Starting with this movie I watched on Turner Classics. An old retro movie with people who have out of date hairstyles. It was great the bad guy tried to perpetrate a fraud on the people of Illinois by trying to sell the open Senate seat to the highest bidder. It's one of those things that anyone with a brain wouldn't try. Especially in a 24 hour a day news cycle. Well they got him in the end. He was brought under charges and released for what I can assume was a lot of money back then. 4,500 dollars I believe it was. Can you believe that? If that happened today it would be something like 250,000 dollars.
It wasn't till a few minutes into the movie that I looked down at the bottom of my TV screen and read MSNBC. That's right, our Governor is an idiot. The only thing I can say is really??? Really??? Come on Gov, you didn't think you'd get away with it? Rumors of his criminal activity have been circulating since 5 hours after he was elected. You don't think it would be smart to sweep your office and home for listening devices? Or better yet, don't be a criminal. I mean really???? It goes to show children that anyone can grow up to be Governor or President. There's no test or anything just run. What's with that hair???
Finally I have been accused lately of not having the Christmas spirit. In fact I know a couple of people who will be unhappy with this blog. The only reason I'm a crank when it comes to Christmas is I'm not exactly sure what that means. Is it about giving? Do I go with the Santa story? I'll tell you it bugs me a little to think of some stranger with a glandular problem sliding down my chimney and leaving me stuff. It's like a jolly stalker. Comes once a year leaves presents just freaks me out a bit. If we go the Jesus route well I'll tell you I got some bad news.

So that being said Christmas should really be in the summer time. I'm just saying that Christmas has a couple of themes that are synonymous with Christmas. These themes are a guy that travels around the Earth on one night. A baby that was born to be Jesus Christ on Dec. 25th , that according to some sciences wasn't born until 2BC and in June.
