Prop 8 was a huge blow to our community, but please don't forget about Prop 102 in AZ, Prop 2 in Florida or Prop 1 in Arkansas. All were huge set backs in human rights. Although AZ and FL queers never had marriage rights to take away, we now have to fight doubly hard to get them. This is a time for our community to reach out to it's own, but also to reach out to the broader community. What do people most fear? What they don't know or understand. It's easy to live a gay life up in the Castro in SF, Capital Hill in Seattle, P-Town, the Coronado District here in Phoenix. It's easier to be with your own, but I think this exclusion may be detrimental to our cause.
So kudos to the Prop 8 queers, but give it up to the masses working their asses off in other states to fight equally important battles!!

There is going to be a rally regarding Florida's Ammendment 2 on Saturday...It passed, and the queer media isn't giving this much attention...Regardless, all of this--California, Arizona, and stupid Florida make me want to scream (and I shall on Saturday!;)

Peace.

It's inevitable that gay marriage will be legalized here; these temporary setbacks are just the last-ditch efforts of conservatives to stop the landslide. May the love that god put in our hearts be sanctified, celebrated, and recognized for the gift it is, everywhere.

Our rally in Eugene, Oregon is at 10:30 tomorrow morning. Everybody's coming.
;-)
