Hey everybody,

It's been a while since we've had much contact with the world outside of Tub Ring Land, and thought it'd be just terrific of us to update you all with some news.  Sound delightful enough?

Last week we entered Electrical Audio, here in Chicago, and started tracking drums.  Being down the street from Kuma's Corner led to many a mighty metal burger being consumed.  Suspicions abound, that the fare helped to summon more thunder from Scott's drumming, too.

Below is a glimpse into the wide world of drums from the new album.



We've even managed to throw a few pictures together, check them out in the 'Recording 2009' section of our pics.

Seventeen tracks later and we're moving along in the direction of guitars.  Tomorrow we'll begin a new phase in that chapter of things.

Before entering the studio we snuck in a rainy Saturday afternoon's worth of drinking and carrying on and tried our hand at shooting a bit of video for a new song that had a working title of "Galactic Emperor".  We even brought in a horn section for this little project. 

In total, I think we're looking to begin mixing around 20 songs by the end of May.  The darndest thing is happening though, and well, we're still writing more songs.  Guess you'll have to deal with it.

Lastly, we're going to put up a bit of extra footage later this afternoon, if you're following our twittering, then you'll be the first to know when it's up.

We dug through a bunch of random footage and found some recent, and some not-so-recent video chronicles and decided to put this together.  Let's just say we feel rotten about taking our time on the new album (not really) and want to give you something cool to occupy your time with (really).
