A long, long stint of hardcore travel is coming to an end. I've been on tour with The Wedding Present off and on since mid-June. It's not appropriate or becoming to complain about "being on the road," so I'll just suffice to say it was all fantastic! One of the highlights was the Melt! Festival near Dessau in Germany. The site is a disused turn-of-the-century coal mine, and some of the gigantic, old, rusted out equipment still stands. At night they light it up exquistely. It looks like an industrial, future/past wonderland: part Blade Runner part Road Warrior.

The record has gotten some (often) obscure but very nice reviews. Here's some snippets:

“A low key delight (8/10)” [NME]

“A glorious alt-pop gem… this is one of the most intimate and affecting records in years” [Rock ‘n’ Reel]

“A winningly intriguing collection… in a word: magical” [Rock-A-Rolla]

Ain't that nice?

More soon!
