Who Gives Kudos:

So I had to respond before anyone runs off and re-mortgages their house or spends their retirement (I'm looking at you mom) in order to pay for my chemo. Lots of folks have responded and shared their willingness to help me out with the costs of the drug. It's incredibly sweet. I can't tell you how supported I feel. More than a couple people here in Bellingham have suggested doing another benefit for me. I'm pretty uncomfortable with the idea just because I feel like I've had my fair share of support from the community here. I'm not exactlly bed ridden yet, so let's hold our horses while I try and get this damn insurance to pay for it like they are supposed to. There will need to be another soluntion eventually but for now... Give me a week or two to see what I can flesh out with insurance and whatnot. I really appreciate everyone's enthusiasm to help me out, it's just hard to accept such help. I don't want to burn ya'll out, so give a little time to see if there are other options. I'll keep everyone posted with how I'm doing on that front, I promise.
Love you all,
Lucas

lucas, any update? i want to say that you should never feel like the community has already supported you enough. it seems silly to me. a lot of these folks care deeply about you and all you are... i dunno. just please keep everyone updated. i am far away right now and if the mighty bill is the only way i can help, then i am down... and i know i am not alone... a lot of us love you, of course.

Hey, Luke, this is Kelly the Darbuka guy from the old days in Bellingham. I went through chemo and radiation and all that stuff. It's great to see your attitude and the committment to living a full life; not getting down. That rocks!

I checked out your tunes! Very talented critter, that Luker-duker...
