GSG has taken off like a runaway train this summer! We have added 10 new girls to the roster bringing our numbers up to 25!!! There has been such a huge response that our photographer (me ;-) can hardly keep up. We sill have about 10 lovely ladies to do photo shoots with and add to the site, so keep an eye out, we have more beautiful betties coming your way. GSG kicked off the summer at the Hot Copper Car Show where the girls got dressed in their retro finest and headed out to put smiles on the faces of everyone at the show. We handed out over 150 beaded necklaces and took hundreds of pictures. We had appearances at Firefall Jewelers, Snaps Coffee/Wine Bar, and Cruisers Ice Cream Parlor. The day was a huge success and a ton of fun. Since then we have had hosted the Big Daddy’s Toga Party in Sugar Pine, hosted a VIP table at the Lake Tulloch Comedy night, had numerous meetings and photos shoots, and this weekend we are hosting Sevin Entertainment’s Hip Hop Rodeo Party at Big Daddy’s (see flyer for details). Plus we still have some HUGE things on the horizon. June 27, 2009 from 11-3pm we will host our first annual “Old Fashioned Family Picnic” at Willow Springs Park in Soulsbyville. We encourage everyone to bring their families and come out for a day of retro flavored fun, including a hula hoop contest, 3 legged race, tug-o-war and best of all Sweetpeas Consignment Store is putting on a “Tiny Hipsters Fashion Show” with retro inspired outfits and accessories DJ J-Krak will be spinning family friendly beats. Admission is FREE. Then as if we weren’t busy enough, on July 18, 2009 from 4-12pm we will be hosting a mini car and bike show with a karaoke contest and after party. KISS of the Motherlode, Kaotik Clothing, plus Earth & Ocean will be on hand to strut their stuff and we will also have some fun with a Big Wheel Race, and Corn on the Cob eating contest. Come on up to the cool breezy pines and enjoy a day of BBQ and fun in the sun while checking out some of the sickest rides in the area. We still have a few openings for cars and bikes so if you have a custom ride and want to compete let us know and we will try to fit you in. We have to thank a few people that have been instrumental in our success, including Tim who just created the tightest new Logo for our crew. Its super sweet, go check it out in our photo gallery and if you need any graphic design message Tim, he will take care of you. Also we would like to PRE-thank the new Cen – Cal Extreme Fitness Gym that is opening soon in downtown Sonora. “Cen – Cal will be the place where the Gold Strike Girls stay Fit, Fierce and Fabulous”. Also thanks to Big Daddy’s in Sugar Pine and Lake Tulloch resort for always taking care of the girls and our guests when we have events there or when we are just coming in for a visit. Thanks also to Sound Extreme for helping to spread the word (look for some events with them coming down the pipeline soon) Now on to business....GSG is still accepting new members. If you are a local lady who is interested in getting out, having some fun, and helping to promote and stimulate our LOCAL economy, let us know! We have various other promotional & charity events in the works. While we get numerous requests daily from promoters and businesses out of the area we are trying to keep everything local and promote the fine businesses in our own backyard. This way there is also very little travel for members and it is an excellent opportunity to get off your couch, make some new friends and memories.
Our core group is now established and we will no longer be offering free membership Sorry =( However there is always a silver lining, which is, we will have a discounted rate of just $40 for new girls coming in until we hit 35. This fee helps cover the costs of doing your photo shoot, styling, wardrobe etc. Your membership will carry some very intriguing perks including discounts and freebies from our local affiliates, so you won’t want to miss out on this.
