I have been having problems with the PC that runs the PMR gateway, which has led to the PMR side of things not working properly. An update from Microsoft (thanks for nothing Mr Gates) has made my soundcard develop issues with Windows' own internal audio mixer 'kmixer.sys' which causes an internal error leading to a system restart, and no amount of tinkering seems to be able to fix it. Even a fresh copy of Windows doesn't solve it. I am looking to find another PC or motherboard without onboard audio to replace the ageing PC Chips motherboard currently in use, if anyone has an old Pentium 3 compatible board they can spare me please drop me a line at the usual email!
I will keep an eye on the PC for now and restart the gateway program if I see it has crashed again.
**UPDATE** I have now substituted the original PMR PC with a similar spec PC I made out of junk parts, and up to now all has been working well. The original PC was getting errors from 'KMixer.sys' as the CMI soundcard drivers were incompatible with the MB and XP. Hopefully should be sorted now!
