it's like christmas eve.
kind of...
i'm back on the bus.
back into my life.
starting tomorrow!
which means i'm officially OFF my ailing back.
the whole bulging disc and torn ligament turned into osteomyelitis eating a disc and part of my L5 was a real drag to say the least.
it's been 4 months since my last gig - 2 1/2 of those flat on my back and/or in the hospital in incredible pain, the rest TRYing to rebuild.
i THINK i'm finally ready... other than the fall i had yesterday that sent me into an emotional puddle (lots of tears, but nothing to really hurt me!)... all signs point to YELLOW!
can't tell you how glad i am to be HERE - in the house i grew up in - with my mom and dad (and Harold!) - and doing all the gigs that i will be doing this week.
it's CRAZY!!!
but i set this stuff in motion B4 my back thingy and here i am.

my 8th grade health teacher turned manager/agent/personal assistant/videographer/tech support/head of High School Yellow Umbrella is AMAZING and full of energy and i am SOOOOOO lucky to have her under my umbrella! she's actually holding it....
LOL!
so she has set up a variety of gigs for me here, in Elmira, NY - totally reaching out to high school and jr high students and the community all week long.
i wanted to focus on really getting the cervical cancer prevention message to students AND their parents -
with the HPV vaccine for 9-26 year olds AND the HPV TEST for women 30+....
EVERYone needs to be talking and DOING something!
and i get to SING again!!!!! mon and tues i'm solo, and then wed the band arrives...
every gig is super special - from the jr highs to the YWCA to the EFA jazz bbq to the Hibernians to the Relay for Life and then SHS POPS CONCERT....
WHEW!
i'm MOST excited about the POPS at SHS and having the concert choir sing my songs with the band and i....
the kids get to HELP ME sing the message to their friends and parents...
and they are wearing YELLOW! and i think the whole place is going to be decorated YELLOW!
crazy.
and then when it's all done, we hop a bit further upstate and do a couple high school assemblies in Penfield! i love love love that Yellow Umbrella is breaking into the schools and that students are rocking my Save the HOOCH! pins!!!!
YAY TEAM YELLOW!
ok - time for bed - have to be up at 5am - WETM interview to kick off the week.
