Just got up after sleeping a few hours in my room. We played our last show of the year tonight in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The show was great... Some technical issues... Hard to avoid using rented gear on some of these international dates. Anyway, by all accounts that concludes the Jane's touring year of 2009. I will be spending the rest of the year focussing on the documentary, some one off shows with Camp Freddy, a show with Slash on the 22nd of Nov... Dark Matter and writing material for new solo material and some collaborative stuff as well. BTW I know I have been dropping the ball on the last few SUNDAY 10s so feel free to ask away here. Next week on Dark Matter, we are having a couple of the guys from Which One's Pink, the Pink Floyd tribute band, coming in to do a few live songs. Should be a great show!

I have a question about how you feel about being looked at as a sort of sex symbol ,do you like it or does it just get old? I mean I look at your comments on twitter and here and I see how all the comments on your pics are "god so sexy" or things to that effect,,,,,,,,,,,,I know you have to think "my god why?" "I look like shit" ...I just happened to notice in one of you photos that everyone said OMG DAVE Your SO HOT,,,,,,,,All I thought was the look deep down in your eyes was I am tired or don't feel good,,,,,,,,,,,anyway excuse the rant,,,,,,,,,,lol,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and hope you might answer how you feel about being looked at like meat or like you are nothing but a shell... thanks,Dee

hehehe.  ok. I'm 48. When I was 22, I was tired of being looked at like a piece of meat.  Now, ---I love it.  myopia is beautiful. but -yes -it's a valid question. -you must be, ultimately, happy to be recognised as a talented musician and artist -and, historically -(for those of us old enough to remember)- a seminal influence in the reintegration of popular sound with gut-level expression. And still -face it: you're hot. Are you just glad we notice?, or do you wish we'd mention your music more often? oooor.... -ok -those are your options -grateful or bummed. Save the details for your shrink. haha. Just kidding. (I'd love to know the details -but -that's a whole other question...)
