For Sly Stone personally,
~
Well, alot has been said and done since I last saw you at Club Long Island In San Francisco, CA, back in the 60s, Sly.  You were "HOOKED" on my "Jr. Walker" style of Sax playing and I was also humbled & completely flattered by your coming to see me play Tenor Sax exclusively on these weekend nights, when I was playing with "Sam Thomas & the Gentlemen" back in the day.  It was also refreshing when you "SAT IN!"  (The rest of that band didn't like it very much at all, because you made them look as unprofessional as they actually were at that time)  Right after you had left Winchester Cathedral in Menlo Atherton, the doggone place burned to the ground!  LOL!  It was right before "Leon & the V.I.P's" (the group I was then with) were suppose to play that night for a 1 mo. engagement.  I'm actually now a Great Grand Dad, since Nov. 2008, but that NEVER STOPS A REAL MUSICIAN, now does it Sly?  LOL!  Doing my own thang now in Decatur, GA. as BlkIndianMale (dba) http://BlkIndiansMusic.org  Although I was too young to be in Sly & the Family Stone in 1967, (due to my unknown Draft Classification) bitterness never set in.  I just got over it!  There have been worse things that happened to me than that since then, and I'm still sane.  My "Selmer" Tenor Sax and Standel Amp were ripped-off, on Haight St. in San Francisco, CA. right after I'd made the last payment to Sherman & Clay for it!   Nevertheless, I just bounced back!  I just went out and bought a B-3 Hammond with 2 Dual 925 Leslie Speakers and created my own band named "MacNasty."  Unaware of contract law, I was still 17y/o, so they were ALL freebies!  In CA, they can't make a "juvenile" pay anything on an invalid contract.  LOL!  Latter, I met Larry Graham in Oakland, CA and his entire family in San Bruno, right after Larry's father died in the 70s, and I so do miss Bro. Rickey, Sis. Gloria Green, Sis. Victoria Green, as well as Bro. Larry Graham.  Haven't seen Freddie, of Greg whom I played with at the Sokol Hall and the California Hall, since then.   Hope they're doing ok these days.  Rose and I send messages from time to time, as she, involved in her music career also appreciates and encourages my Solo-Music career.   I haven't seen you in over 40 yrs. but I Hope you're still as Funky as you were when you were on KSOL, playing at Balboa, and Polytechnic High, as Sly & the Family Stone, my dear friend, Sly.
~
GLAD TO SEE YOU BACK!
