Life means different things to different people. What’s sad is that too many people take for granted that they will live forever. Nothing is guaranteed. Nothing is promised. We don’t know what the future brings. We don’t know for sure that we will live forever, much less for another day. Last July my wife was shot and killed. That was my first wake up call as to how precious life really is and how anything can happen. My friend lost his girlfriend this morning. He said that it’s funny how you can be fine one minute and gone the next. That’s so true, but it’s sad to see people in this city live so careless and wreckless. Not enough people appreciate their lives and they take it for granted. It’s not enough that they risk their lives daily, but they jeopardize the lives of others constantly. I see a lot of people driving around like maniacs with no regards to speed limits or traffic laws. There’s a lot of people that drive around with their cell phones, either talking or texting with no regard to what they are doing. If you are so absorbed with your conversation, you cannot be fully aware of what’s going on and you don’t have full control of your vehicle. A lot of people drink and drive. What a lot of you people don’t understand is that you are not only endangering yourselves, but you put other peoples’ lives at risk. You have no right to do that. If you wanna kill yourself, that’s one thing. But you have no right to take the life of another. It’s so hard for us to slow down. And it’s even harder for some of us to enjoy life. Lisa was only 35. She passed away so young and way too soon. None of us have a guarantee of living any certain amount of years. Please, take life a little more serious and be more cautious with it. Appreciate it, cherish it, take care of it. For we never know what tomorrow brings.
