You may have been wondering what happened to us and why we haven’t been blogging, booking any new shows, or even checking our MySpace inbox or comments… well, we’re all still alive and well, just very, very busy in the studio. 

Our former drummer Viet is no longer a member of Slivered, but we are waiting until the new album is complete or at least half way there to seek out and audition new drummers.  We didn’t want to delay the recording process for all the time it takes to find the right drummer and then teach him all the material for the album and rehearse until it was tight enough to track.  In the mean time, we are recording with a very skilled studio session drummer and making great progress.  The music tracks (sans vocals) are already complete for ‘Succubus’, and well on the way with ‘Black Lacquer Box’, ‘Ashes to Dust’, Soulicide’, and ‘Jack the Ripper’.  That’s about half of the album already.

Keep an eye out and your ears open for a completely new MySpace page and brand new music in the next month or so.  As soon as these first five songs are complete and vocal tracks have been laid, the old stuff is going bye-bye and the new tunes will be posted.  That’s also when we will begin auditioning drummers.  That said, even though we won’t hold any auditions until we’re at least at the half-way point (about a month or so from now) if you’re a good, technically advanced, tight and creative drummer, send us a message and we’ll contact you to set up an audition in the near future – same goes if your reading this and are not a drummer, but know of someone who is, and who fits the aforementioned criteria.
