I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own -- a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. -Albert Einstein, physicist, Nobel laureate (1879-1955)

In my search for God, I've concluded that conclusive evidence exists that proves that the deity known as God, is a fraud. Yes, God is a Fraud!

Just from me operating three different versions of this page on MySpace over the past five years, I've also concluded that people who believe in their God, do so ever so fervently. I've also learned that most Christians lack any tolerance toward those who think, feel or believe differently than they do. The fact that MySpace caved in to their complaints in the past and deleted this page twice, is proof of that alone. Atheists don't go to Christian MySpace pages and send in complaints en masse to the MySpace Customer Service, so why do they? It's very simple. Most Christians possess a sense of superiority, and feel that they have a god-given right and duty to admonish those that oppose their God, or the Bible. God is a dangerous myth that was invented by needy people and con artist who want to control and make money off of gullible believers.

Three problems present themselves forcibly to my mind that suggest that God is nothing more than a convenient invention. First are that those who most strenuously preach the rules of their religion. Those who dictate what is sin and what is not, tend to be sinners against their own rules when the facade is torn away. The hypocrisy of the legislators of sin being devout sinners under the skin repels even me.

The second problem I have with the concepts of God that many people hold is the contradiction and hypocrisy of the believers. The hypocrisy part is similar to the legislators of sin being sinners themselves, only this latter example involves the practitioners of the religion rather than it leaders. They simply don't follow the rules they supposedly subscribe to, but yet still stand in judgement of others who do exactly as they do.

The third problem I have with the concepts of God is modern science. Religious claims can all easily be disproved by modern science. I'm not talking about the false science of Christian Intelligent design, an idea which was developed by certain American creationists to reformulate their argument in the creation-evolution controversy to circumvent court rulings that prohibit the teaching of creationism as science. I'm talking about real science. Many believers treat the Bible as if it were perfect and without flaws, infallible and error-free. The truth is that the Bible has lots of errors, mistakes, and contradictions, especially scientific inaccuracies and historical errors, which only reflects the naivete of the ancient authors. The Bible claims to be the inspired, inerrant Word of God. If it is what it claims to be, then it cannot contain errors of any kind. If it is not what it claims to be, then it cannot even be trusted in maters of theology, much less science and history.

Contradictions abound in the monotheistic religions. God is a vengeful God, but he wants us to be peaceful. God is a peaceful God, until he wants his followers to go to war and die if necessary to defend the faith. God is an all knowing God, until those evil godless scientist started popping up, as well as the blasphemous Discovery Channel and Science Channel. However, faith itself cannot be killed, unless every last believer is either educated in the basic sciences, or completely annihilate each other in war. Some say that God punishes sinners for every sinful act they commit. The same believers will claim that their own particular sins are forgiven because Jesus (or some other prophet) died that their sins may be forgiven. Some actually believe (and can quote Revelations as evidence) that they can sin abundantly for their whole lives, then repent and be saved on their deathbeds and still be admitted into heaven. Convenient.

Even the concept of heaven is absurd. To most Christians, heaven is a place of eternal bliss, usually only available to devout and pure Christians, and sometimes their beloved pets. The Christian heaven is as boring as I could imagine. Where every bit of intellectual strength I have gained throughout my life will be lost through atrophy because the inmates have nothing to think about. The Muslim heaven must be populated by an uncountable number of virgin hookers because Muslim suicide bombers are promised 72 of them each. However, the Muslim promises of heaven may be limited, due to the fact the virgins may get tired of having sex with people who have to blow themselves up in order to get laid. Judaism spends so little time on the concept of heaven that many Jews are not even clear about what heaven is. This confusion may have led to the inordinate number of Jewish comedians.

The point here, as stated in Einstein's quote, is that people have invented their respective God with human characteristics. Several Gods even feature an exaggerated phallus. Maybe that's where the tradition of getting on your knees in prayer started. Step back from that a moment and consider the absurdity. Believers agree that God is perfect, but present evidence in holy books that God has as many failures and foibles as any foolish human, with the exception to the strictly mortal human condition of erectile dysfunction.

Atheists have disavowed anything to do with God or the religions that invented God, and have embraced science. Is it any surprise that atheists tend to live more wholesome and beneficial lives than religionists? At some point in the future, the rest of civilization will follow the lead of atheists, and will cease believing in a God, and embrace science as well. The real sinners here are actually those who perpetuate all the hate which comes naturally from religion. Religion is a form of mass delusion or at the very least a paranoid wish-fulfilment. Fighting in the name of God is just as absurd as people fighting in the name of Santa Claus, or the tooth fairy. I can almost visualize the righteously nice in the Crusades attempting to win the affections of the Santa God, by trying to annihilate the evil naughty in his name. They know that the second coming of Santa God to town, isn't going to be good, for the bad, so they must be "good" for goodness sake!

War is heaven, peace is Hell.

Was Man created in Gods image or was god created in Mans image? If we step back and take a look at all of the old religions. We see an interesting pattern that emerges from how ancient humans looked upon the world.
Why do we have storms, there must be a being (beyond human ability) that controls the storms.
Why do we have war, there must be a being (beyond human ability) that makes us want to have war.
Why do we have day and night, there must be a being (beyond human ability) that controls the sun.
You can look around the world and see how each area developed their our set of deities and how these deities had similar aspects.
So when one tribe or country invaded another territory, they would erect temples to honor the gods of the winner. Their priest would convert the now enslaved country. The Winners of any battle always wrote the history. Conquer and convert.
Now if we take a look at the Christian religion and how their is only one god that covers all the aspects of the old gods. Storms, War, Day and night, love, god becomes a supreme Being, overshadowing the lesser gods who only control one or two aspects of the world.
Now add a major fighting force whose only purpose was to eliminate the competition, with each victory the Christian church grew more powerful.
To quote Monty Python, No one asked for the Spanish Inquisition.
So using the learned behavior of conquer and convert we ended up with the majority of the world as followers of the ONE GOD.
How much blood was spilled in the name of God, how many innocent people died by Christian hands for the simple fact that they didn't believe in god, or even just accused of having dealings with the Devil.
An all knowing all powerful merciful loving caring God wouldn't allow this type of behavior from his followers.
They say Fear God, God has no power you should fear his followers, because they are the sick demented killers of the innocent, that gave god all his power through the blood shed of thousands.

I totally agree.......in the past month I have lost my best friend of 22 years. She was brutally murdered by her ex fiancee......I have been told by several people that it is God's will.

Screw that!! She was MY best friend, she had 3 beautiful daughters that no longer will know thier mothers love. And the a$$ that stabbed her to death will get out of jail in 10 years......soo much for justice for my friend Dawn.

I hope there is a special place in eternity for the man who killed her.......Gods will my a$$!!

I enjoy your writing Satan....keep em coming!! When will you be posting more of Satans mailbag?

If god is a vengeful and jealous deity who calls for punishment for trivial offenses, what does that say about Satan? How could he be any worse? And on top of that...If god is all knowing, benevolent, and omniopotent...why doesn't he just shut down Hell for good? But if that's the case, we wouldn't have a good fairy tales...now would we?

"God is dead." Friedrich Nietzsche

And we killed him. For those of you who have read 1984 you may recognize the idea I'm adding to this blog post. For every person we can turn away from the fraud that is god to the light of atheism or at the very least doubt we will be one more step to a peaceful world. In 1984 of course it was opposite, Big Brother brain-washed it's enemies after their discovery into finally loving it, regardless of their previous inhibitions or hate, in the idea that they would produce no martyrs and their eventual deaths would be meaningless. What Satan (hail Satan) is doing here and what we should all being doing is just contributing to this basic plan. We will be going to our deaths one day, hopefully really old, still non-believers, still fighting the small fights of a greater battlefield. In this way we are all martyrs for a greater idea, against the established theism machine, as we have all undoubtedly suffered either emotionally, physically, or socially due to our choice. If this year only 100 people embrace reality and give up their spiritual pipe dreams due to our example whether they or we realize our impact on them or not then we are that much closer. I used to be a pretty fervent Catholic; altar-boy, thoughts of becoming a priest, the whole works and my soul was saved not by water or by incense, but by books and... well, the internet. When I die, even if I never wrote this response or propagated my atheist beliefs, my life will have meant a greater deal towards world peace than most due only to the fact that I chose to continue in a blind tradition of ignorance and intolerance. Thank you to this outlet of free speech and others like it for their contribution and thanks to ourselves for having the courage to think, as silly as that sounds.

If you saw The Mask with Jim Carrey, you will realize that we all wear one. That's why I think that your pic is so funny. It totally fits in with what you believe in. That is, ofcourse, you are an atheist. We are all probably so afraid of the unknown, that we do not want to be recognized as the person we really are. Scared! So, ofcourse, we all have to have the mask of bravery on our faces. And that helps us deal with the reality, that we don't really know what is going on in the world. For awhile...Let us drop the whole god issue and focus in on what are the leaders of the worlds governments up to. Someone is trying to take over the world. But who? Watch the conservatives and the liberals of the world one the news and in news papers. No need to take sides. We are all Americans and want the same thing. The American Dream: Life, liberty, and the pusuit of happiness.

What if those life-long sinners who plan on repenting on their death beds actually die before they can utter a word? I guess they'll be S.O.L.

Eternal life will only happen when we figure out how to prolong our biological lives indefinitely while stopping or reversing the aging process, or when we advance technologically enough to somehow save our consciousnesses, personalities, and memories and upload them into new bodies.

Lmao. I agree with most of what you're saying. I do have minor differences of opinion on a couple things, but they aren't really significant enough to mention. There is, however, one thing I'd like to mention. I admit: worshipping a God - any God, any religion - is effectively picking and choosing. There is no concrete evidence for any of them, so picking one is the same as picking any - you're just guessing and hoping you're right. It's like listening to an instrumental rock song and inventing your own lyrics for it, then assuming that you've got exactly what the artist wanted. It's silly.

However... as silly as it is, there is the chance - even if tiny - that you HAVE picked the right interpretation. If there is a God (and there is no solid proof that there isn't one, so by all rights, there could be), no one knows what he actually is like. So taking a guess and coming up with your own interpretation does leave you with a large percentage of being wrong, but there is still the minute possibilty that you could be right.

There is only one reality. The chances that any belief system that has ever existed, is existing, or that will exist on this planet Earth that has a 100% factual grasp of the god-part of reality (or not) is pretty dang slim. If there is a god, I seriously doubt it's the control freak, sexist, slave-condoning, murdering, praise groveling deity depicted in the old and moldy desert cults which started 2000+ years ago.

Discriminating against others for what they believe in is just as bad as the religions who hate on you. You can not fight fire with fire. I personally am confused. I'm still young. I do, on the other hand, have the decency to look at the situation from both sides of the story. They might believe in something that is more then likely a myth but it helps them cope with the idea that there's something after death. There's nothing wrong with that and it certainly does NOT make them fools. Everyone has the right to believe what they want and to think other wise is arrogant. He did have very good points but what you said was uncalled for, you clearly have no idea what you're in for with a mind like that.

Exactly! Religion is merely a way for people to attempt to explain things they can't understand, from the Greeks and Romans to modern day christians; it comes from a human psychological need that is fulfilled by creating or accepting myths that attempt to explain the unexplainable...some people hold on to this mythology because it makes them feel safe and secure. and any idea or notion that casts doubt on that which makes them feel safe scares the hell out of them (literally, lol). so they lash out at the "non-believers". and by that i mean non-believers of whatever religion they align themselves with, because in their eyes, everyone else not in the same religion as them, no matter how many other religions and deities are recognized, is "unholy" and "hell bound"... they hold on to these beliefs (that most of the time make absolutely no sense whatsoever) simply out of fear... i feel sorry for them... i'm not sure what makes some people so incredibly terrified of the unknown when others (albeit a small percentage) are totally okay with the fact that they just don't know and may never know...

Dr. Laura Schlessinger is a radio personality who dispenses advice to people who call in to her radio show. Recently, she said that, as an observant Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22 and cannot be condoned under any circumstance. The following is an open letter to Dr. Laura penned by a east coast resident, which was posted on the Internet. It's funny, as well as informative:

Dear Dr. Laura:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the other specific laws and how to follow them:

When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15:19- 24. The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?

Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?

I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? - Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

Your devoted fan,
Jim

I liked the insinuation of people getting on their knees to please God.

"War is heaven, peace is Hell".

True. With peace we are bored and have nothing to live for. In chaos though we have to fight for our lives. Without struggle and sacrifice there is only the same boring thing to look forward to everyday for the rest of our lives.

If there is heaven I shun it because I choose not to spend eternity praising the one who gave me life. I would instead choose the one that allows me to live.

Everything dies. Even deities. (for example: Greek, and Nordic religions) This is why we should try to live our lives the way we want to. Not the way we are told to by controvertible fools that have long since died.

Though I could easily just say how much I agree with you, I feel I should paste a snippet from my page.

"I don't believe in a god, per se. I was raised Catholic, went through many religions, saw faults in all of them, and came to the conclusion that organized religion was a panacea for the populace, invented through stories to help primitive peoples cope with their impending mortality. Personally, I believe the world is run by and almost infinite number of intricate invisible laws, sort of a cosmic cascade of dominoes. If a god exists, it's certainly not what any organized religion believes it is, probably more of an impersonal mathematical equation floating in the sky. I'm certain whatever it is, it doesn't want to be begged and pleaded with, pandered to, and attributed with all the pain and suffering we humans create. I don't think it's even listening, it just does what it does with no awareness of the little pink monkeys below. So instead of wasting my life trying to please an imaginary deity that strikes christians and non-christians with equal ferocity, I choose to have faith in myself, and make as much as I can out of this life I have."

As you can tell, I wholeheartedly concur. God is a myth.
