coming from the beautiful Loch Lomond we arrived in Glasgow yesterday. The inhabitants are very welcoming, friendly and willing to have a chat.Did 2 songs at Partick Folkclub : Spring, because I wrote it with Jim Byrne and Life..s for loving because I wrote it with Vivien Scotson and both were present and performed as well!!! What a great way to start a Glasgow visit. Jim was daring enough to play two new songs and Vivien dared to sing the chorus of our song though I changed the key and sang her part: a true artiste! There were so many performers I lost track of the ammount, it was a joy to listen to everybody, but the folksongs were very special for us and the singingalong is moving, as was "The lights go out" by Vivien and Patrick Bullen: what a beauty of a song and how their guitars and voices mingled!!See Vivien..s myspace and order their EP: I mean: RIGHT NOW!! Mick West hosted the evening in a superb Jools Holland manner and what a heartwarming guy he is: visit the folknight last friday of every month if you can. Jan PS: ..AND PAT BYRNE MADE US A WONDERFUL DINER!!
