Did another 2 gigs in Glasgow: The Drawing Room on aug 6 where not so many people really listened but chatted with eachother, although Kenton Hall and JohnMCourt of IST were funny and great as ever, and I did'nt do bad either....
In The Liquid Ship on aug 7 however we had an attentive audience:5 acts did a set of songs with a.o.: Kenton and John of IST again, Jim Byrne and me being so fortunate to sing again with Vivien Scotson (our song Life's for living) and with Kenton (our song Nighttrain to Milan).Nice audience, great venue and I think we all did a good set.
Two nights later a man came up to me in a street I had never been before and told me he was there and loved my songs! That is so wonderful!!
And then...time to say goodbye at a dinner at Rachel Dawick's place: we played some covers .Rachel played us her new EP: "Ed's Bar and Grill" which was great, Patrick Bullen gave me a lesson on whisky.I left them saying:"I can't even begin to say how much this week meant to me" so...I won't ... The music and the hugs said it all: Great friends, I feel blessed we met again and will meet in the future!
Next day: visit to Edinburgh: we were impressed!! Jim and Pat Byrne joined us and goodbye again: we had a great time with you and look forward to meeting the both of you in Amsterdam.
Back on the boat to Rotterdam I imagened I would be able to live in both England or Scotland: friendly welcoming people, great music scene, beautiful landscapes...
and real weather! Love, Jan
