So. Officially, we are now a 4 piece! We have... on drums Mr Wez. On lead guitar, the lovely.... Lisa! We had a rehearsal the other night where Lisa played through some lead parts she'd written and Martyn and I were grinning over at each other before she'd even gotten halfway through the first song (Yeah You). The sound, the part, it fit so well! So we're really happy and have it in our minds that our big exciting show at the Half Moon will be when we play together as a four piece first. We'll definitely be able to play some different songs, perhaps Romeo and Salt with a full band, I've written a new one which I think could work with some effort put into arranging it. I tend to write repetetive chord sequences, with the vocals and arrangement (which I can't do on an acoustic by myself) changing the feel of verse and chorus. I'm pretty limited, so maybe, hopefully, someone else will be offer suggestions for changes for a middle 8, or different structure to the chorus, and make it into a real joint effort. Martyn and I are doing the 20 min thing in Deptford (which, to my surprise, should be a lot easier to get to than I imagined) as we've been playing up til now... but the highlights. Then it's back to the Good Ship, as we love playing there, to see how it goes down with the full band in there. It's all getting very exciting! Claire
