Yesterday, Julie and the boys went to McCook for her uncle's funeral. I stayed behind mainly to take care of our dogs.

Usually we'd take them to a kennel, but one of them dislocated his hip a few weeks ago, so we have to make sure he doesn't do any running or serious exercise for a few months. He also has to have his hind legs taped together in sort of a manacle fashion (for 2 weeks) that's sad and funny at the same time.

Anyway, she'll be back late tonight and I'm going crazy.

I don't think I'm defined by my family, but they are what makes me more complete, and I'm kind of lost without them. I know it's only a short time, but it brings out my worst fears.
