Citation Records New Signing: Jeff Stewart Inks Citation Deal
Indie label Citation Records is at it again. In their one label campaign to keep rock and roll – the real rock and roll – alive, they have hit upon a fellow keeper of the flame in their new signing Jeff Stewart. Stewart is a music biz veteran, and he’s been tearing up the stages solo for years. Now, thanks to Citation Records, fans will be able to take Stewart’s rocking sounds home with them after the stage lights dim, thanks to the pending release of a 5 song EP.
Now, “rocking sounds” – that could mean a lot of things, right? In Stewart’s case, that sound you hear is the space where Junior Brown meets The Stooges. Where Elvis Costello meets Chris Isaak. He’s a little bit country. He’s a little bit rock and roll. Rockabilly, roots, maybe even a little kiss of punk rock – people hear lots of different things in Stewart’s music, but the one thing they all agree on is that they can’t get enough. You’re going to have to check it out for yourself to decide exactly what genre label applies here. Good times. Guaranteed.
Jeff Stewart’s new EP will be released on Citation Records this summer.
