Hands to the Sky, We All Wave Goodbye to Our Mothers is my first album ever, recorded in 2005 in my basement on a 8 track tape recorder. This is where it all started. And I am about to re-release this album for the new version of Itunes with a donation based system.
All artists have to eat, and this time around, if you want to pick this up, and i HIGHLY recommend it, you should donate like a buck or something to me. It's fair, right? Art is worth something, I can't negate that fact. And yes, they are just files. But you know what, I worked on them. And I'm starting to understand the changes that are taking place in the music industry, and that tangible is a word that we throw around, but now it has new meaning. Reality is changing, and the world is shifting its shape. Our definitions need to be fact-checked asafp.
So, with that being said, I am starting to accept adult responsibilities such as making money for the job that I do. I give things away for free on a very regular healthy basis, and right now I think that I am comfortable enough with your dedicated support as fans of my music to assume that you will donate to me as you download this record.
This is the HONOR SYSTEM. But I also have supreme faith in my fans.
Obviously, if you relate to what I am talking about with my music, you probably are good people who wouldn't steal. And obviously, there will be mischievous people who, apparently better than me, will steal this and that is OKAY. We drunkenly push our friends off cliffs. And that is what makes the world spin on its high heel.
I will mention that I am NOT OPPOSED to having a record label. I am not fiercely independent as long as I am getting what I want and what I deserve for my art. And I am not going to sign something unless it will get my music to the largest audience possible. So, labels, if you want to step up and sign me, I recommend it. HIGHLY. We will make you money. Because we love people . I am singing for people. The people love us. Because WE ARE THE PEOPLE.
