The 11th Hour – Burden of Grief CD (Napalm Records)
Very well produced slow burning, bone crushing doom metal. The 11th hour don’t sound dissimilar to other legendary, heavy hitting, bands like Cathedral, Crowbar and Opeth. The vocals admittedly take a while to get used to but if you give it a chance this record proves to be very rewarding! Jam packed with proper sludgey riffs, brutal drumming and gorgeous high-end guitar work… top this off with alternating nasty guttural and off key Ozzy style vocals and you’ve got yourself a pretty tight record. What more could a man possibly need I hear you ask? How about loads of drugs, beer, money and women maybe? In the meantime however some nice fat riffing will do me fine! Ioan
