I used to do a rant on hot 97 in new york city via DJ cipha sounds (whattap ciph mad respect fam!!!) called "A werd from Werdplay"...yall might have heard it on ya way home from work back a few years ago.Things have since changed.At that time we had somewhat of a "Machine" behind us.this machine never ended up turning many gears for us.it was a really rough time.the economy basically shot to shit lining up perfectly with my group getting our major label deal.i could sit here and blame this person,that person..this situation that situation...its really not worth it.because in the end it was nobody's fault (everyone did what they could) and a blessing in disguise.
I have spent a lot of the past 2 years on some other level man.....depression kicked in...all that shit man.i thought bleste was done...but deep down inside i knew we werent...i was left for dead by the one person i thought would be there for me through thick and thin....Vary and Faf have been going through it heavy as well and we could have broken but we didnt.we got through it all....we stuck together.
Im sitting here listening to the finished version of our new album and it is fucking insane.i just wanna say that I am very proud to be in this group and i can not wait to let it loose and hit the road to perform this music for people.I want to thank Fafu,Various,Mike patterson,the whole label staff (i will let them announce our signing and album release on thier own) responsible for getting us set up to release this shit,my son for giving me the strength to never give up and anyone who has continued to support blestenation through the long wait.we are going to go severely hard in 2009 and beyond.
