For those that don't know, our former bassist, Peter J. Woods, quit Half Gorilla about a month ago. He has been gracious enough to fill in for some shows, and our brother Chris from Protestant filled in on bass for our tour. But as such, we're still looking for someone to join the band to replace Peter.

Here's some basic things we're looking for in a bass player:

-We're looking a bassist that lives in the general southeastern WI/Fox Valley WI/Chicagoland IL area. It doesn't really matter where you live ultimately, but you'll have to be able to drive to Milwaukee to practice with us once per week. You will need your own transportation.

-We're looking for a bass player who has their own equipment. This means you need to own a bass, and your own amp and speaker(s). Also, not to be a dick, but a 1x15 Peavey bass combo isn't going to cut it. A 4x10, 2x15, 8x10, or some combination thereof would be highly preferred. We're not super loud, but it's better to have too much volume than not enough.

-Be able to play the bass. If you can play the songs on our MySpace page, you'll be able to handle what we do. If you have no idea what's going on when you listen to those tracks, are a slow learner, or have limited experience playing the bass, then you're not right for us.

-Ability to play shows. We play about 1-3 shows per month, and tour about 3 times per year for 5-10 days per stint. We also drive pretty far for one-off shows, and have even driven to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada several times on weekends just for one show (15 hours one way). If you have trouble getting off work and making the time for shows, you're not right for us.
