No matter what your political leanings, Ted Kennedy was a giant of American politics.  Let me know what you remember about the late Senator.
Scott
Scott Bornstein

From the time I could vote, until a few years ago, "Teddy" was our Senator (Yes, I voted for him).  Though I now live in FL, he was still "our Senator", America's Senator, and in some cases, the world's Senator.  A dynasty family has now lost it's final component.  America is a better place because he was here, and will likely never see this type of American again.  Thanks Teddy...

..As a teenager I grew up with the Kennedy family in Hyannisport, as an adult living in East Boston I have memories of Teddy Kennedy walking the streets of Orient Heights talking to the residents about their individual concerns, and, as an airline employee at Logan Airport, I will always remember Teddy Kennedy as being unfailingly gracious and understanding about flight cancellations and delays - and yes, he flew commercial flights between Boston and Washington.....No matter how long the lines or how large the crowd, I will be there in Hyannis - somewhere in the crowd - to show my respects at Teddy's service. He will be missed. He was everyone's senator.....Christine Contilli....Brewster, MA..

Teddy was a man for the people. May his legacy be the success of healtcare for all. He helped the state of Mass, my home state at one time with healthcare options for all. So very sad to see a man who worked his entire life holding up the Kennedy family and many more through so much tragedy and so many challenges leave us. Rest in Peace and thank you for your lifetime commitment.

The world lost a great man today. I am a proud Democrat and admired the work that he did. The Kennedy family has had a lifetime of loss, and my heart goes out to them. May he rest in peace knowing that so many people loved, respected and admired him. I am truly saddened.

I grew up always hearing about the "Kennedys" as being our "Royalty" . Also remember the press always referring to the JFK years as "Camelot" even though the facts of the situation would not support the fairy tale image of the family.
That aside, Ted kennedy has always been at the forefront of of the senate, and was respected by many. He was a cornerstone for the Democrats, and will be missed as such. My sympathies to his family, still shaken by their recent loss of Eunice.
I'm sure history will be kind to Sen. Kennedy as it has been to his brothers. Remembering the better memories, and passing over the unsavory facts, and mysteries surrounding the name.

Since the man's final cause was universal health care, it is now a crusade. Only a madman would stand in the way of passing such a measure. Sadly, there'll be such foolishness in the days and months to come, but now we have charged to honor Senator Kennedy's memory by fulfilling his dearest wish. It will be done! It has to be done!

The late Senator Kennedy was a champion for all Americans, whether democrat or republican. He did what had to be done in order to be a service to not only his state but his country even if that meant crossing party lines to the dismay of fellow democrats. His life story, healthcare reform, was a fight he never got to finish in his life here on earth but you know he'll be watching from heaven rooting on for the little man, the dream living on through all he's touched, and the hope will rise through those who fight to continue his legacy even after his passing. RIP Ted Kennedy. Camelot has lost its crowning jewel.

I remember growing up in the 80's in Eastern North Carolina and while in grade school back then, the Kenndy name was a huge topic in schools as well as on television. Ted Kennedy just like his greatly respected family members had done so much to improve this country. He will be missed and always remembered for what he stood for.

Now, that is not a leading/loaded question. There is only one way to answer, now isn't there. OK hear you go..... Kennedy did less for me and the world than Les Paul and if I remeber right no one in the media cared, but if it is Kennedy we must talk about --- I would say the best thing he ever did was help funnel money to the IRA which helped end British rule in the isle. Sure he denounce his IRA supporting actions after 911, but whatever. Helping the IRA is the greatest thing Ted ever did. Sorry I missed the show but I am sure it was all Ted all hour, and besides you won't make me In Pro Per your friend so why am I even typing this is beyond me. But the IRA.

I can only hope there is a replacement with the same passion as sen. kenndy. finnaly the spot light has shined on a true americam who has done more for this country then a pervet that could sing and dance and did nothing to serve america

A LIBERAL and he didn't apologise for it! More people not just politicians should be progressive enough to say they are LIBERAL!  Sen.Edward Moore Kennedy.{increased the national minium wage, voted for voting rights act, human rights act, for sanctions against South African repressive regime,no against Iraqi intervention to enrich Haliburton,Lockheed, etc.,yes for voting representation for District of Columbia in congress, yes for intergrating Boston's public schools, & worked for universal healthcare in a nation that is misled by Limbaugh, etc. into thinking a nhs is socialised medicine.
