Newsmax has a report out today on the exchange of words over the airwaves between RNC Chairman, Michael Steele, and conservative radio host, Rush Limbaugh.

GOP Whip Eric Cantor even gets dragged into the fray.

The bottom line is this:  Rush Limbaugh is right when he rallies conservatives to fight for their principles and oppose policies and ideologies that we believe are harmful to the nation and that go against the sacred trust of individual liberty and freedom.

The Republican Party is searching for its soul right now, when it should be easy for it to find its voice in opposing taxpayer bailouts, trillions of dollars in spending when our nation is already in debt, and opposing higher taxes.

That the Republican leadership are not doing this loudly, succinctly and uniformly is what has so many conservatives concerned.

Michael Steele and Eric Cantor have fallen for the Democrats' trap.   They want to see Republicans fighting each other instead of their liberal agenda.

We suggest Messrs. Steele and Cantor remind themselves of who they are, what they believe, and who supported them in their ascension to power.  And then once their done, go do their jobs and fight the big-government, quasi-socialistic agenda that is being forced upon this nation right now by Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

For the first, and quite possibly the last, time in my life
the GOP held the Presidency and both Houses of Congress.

A once in a lifetime opportunity and they squandered it.

Who needs the GOP if it's merely Democrats-Lite?

2006 should have been an early wake up call. Republicans: If you're gonna act like Dems, then you're outta here!!!! Dem-Lite is an excellent handle. The King of Dem-Lites, McCain, did not pick up one blue state in 2008. Not one!!! and lost many red states; Enough said.

Limbaugh does not represent the next generation of Republican's. I once loved Rush but he has since degenerated into a caricature of what a Conservative should be. The next generation wants to get back to the basics of Republican values - personal Liberty and self-determination, enforcement of contracts and property rights, smaller centralized government bound by the chains of the Constitution, etc. I think El Rush'baugh has been corrupted. He didn't challenge the fact that Republicans were governing like Big Government Liberals when something could have been done about it. He cares more about supporting his own lifestyle plugging ads than growing and strengthening the Republican Party. I still listen to his show but it saddens me.
We need a William F Buckley, not a mere pundit so sucky!!!!!

Rick, not sure what you heard but during the last election Rush couldn't get behind any Republican candidate.  At first I was upset with him because it looked like he was working against Republicans.  As it turned out there just weren't any really good Republican candidates to get behind.  Hope we have a better crop to vote for this next time or the Republican Party is toast.
