Who Gives Kudos:

February 23, 2009 - Monday

Just an update to everyone:

The new album is coming along well...we're close to halfway done with the first five songs. I dare say I think we might be blowing ourselves away a little with how good it's sounding. I'm not one for hype, so I'll leave the verbal insight at that for now.

In case you've missed them, we now have two video podcasts documenting the album's creation online. You can now watch and subscribe to them on the iTunes store by clicking here or by searching for Grammatrain: Behind The Tracks. Do us a favor and leave some reviews/comments on the iTunes Podcast page after you've seen them.

Finally, we wanted to let you know the title of the new release: Kneeling Between Shields. We'd kind of been debating whether use this for the name of the full length album or just the pre-release CD, but I think we're landing on it for the LP (does anyone use that term still?).

Thanks again for the support, and stay tuned. We should have a new song to drop on you soon.

-Pete

I can't wait to hear the new album. I'm sure it is going to sound amazing. Honestly though, I don't personally care for the tentative album title...

Yowzah! I just listened to your original CD the other day and thought to myself: Yo! Where did these guys disappear to? I remember driving up to Portland to see you guys at The Push with Sometime Sunday and Sappo. And driving to Washington to catch you at the first ever Tom Fest (Poor Old Lu, Starflyer 59, MxPx). And I went onstage to sing SIREN with Sappo! Has it really been so long ago? Looking forward to the new stuff! Oh, and if anybody has a lead on where to get the original grammatrain CD (the one BEFORE Lonely House) let me know! It contains the better of the versions of FOR ME and the accoustic JERKY LOVE SONG.

Anyhow, enough of this rabble. Looking forward to an epic return.

This is by far the BEST news I've heard in years. You guys have always been one of my biggest inspirations and have always been one of the most solid bands I've ever heard.

By the way, the album title is badass. Very epic.

Kickass title. Just a hint of that badass prog imagery -- you know, shields and swords and honor and valor(and don't forget dragons and fiery arrows!). Brothers in arms, digging their feet into the dirt and their shoulders into their shields for the first metal-on-metal crash of battle... and then there's the kneeling aspect -- the St. Stephen-like sacrifice and reverance... yeah. heh. Wholly epic. Good choice.
