Just letting you know that our debut single 'Silent' is making it's way on radio around Australia!

The NSW country town that birthed Thirsty Merc and The Reels, two of this country’s most successful bands, this week launches Original Liberty.


Like Thirsty Merc and The Reels, this Dubbo based band presents energetic live performances that consistently attract a strong following along Australia’s east coast.


Recorded locally and at The Grove (the studios formerly owned by INXS), Silent is the opening song from the trio’s self produced CD Counting Down the Days which was mixed by Andy Sorenson.


Original Liberty features brothers Nathan (lead singer) and Samuel Shooter (guitars), plus Neil Whitehead (bass). The band recently performed its debut radio single Silent at Easterfest 09.




 

Hello friend,

Just a quick update of fido band-camp!

1. Long time member and founder of Fido, Pete Seamons has hung up the boots. This was sad news as he was the backbone of the band, however we respect his decision to move onto other ventures in life and are grateful for the awesome years we had together. He has been replaced by the sexy and very talented Mr. David Temby. So welcome aboard buddy!

2. We have some sweet gigs coming up shortly. Check www.myspace.com/fido for more details. Next tues we're playin at Ruby's in Belgrave, so if your a local come along and hang on a tuesday night! :)

3. The promotion company thats putting on The Getaway Plan finale gig @ hallam hotel is urging us to sell heaps of tickets for this show. If you are able to help in any way (i.e- tell a friend, sell some tix, come along) that would be much appreciated. If we do well in ticket sales we will be able to play some mad shows in the future. (tickets available on our page)

Hey everyone, it's Yusuke from escend here.
we have a couple of announcements.

1. Many of you probably know but yes we are playing at Yoyo's youth centre in forestway this coming friday (the 22nd), so come and have fun with us, details are on our myspace page

3. Finally, our producer of "Oblivious to the Obvious" EP Sonny Truelove, the ex guitarist and vocals of The Valley and current guitar and vocals of The Closer (Check them out, they're in our top friends) is back in Australia for a month so we decided to do a couple of new songs, we'll be re-recording an oldie so watch out for that.

ACG BAND/ARTIST OF THE WEEK (18/5/09) - CANDICE CASAGRANDE

This week ACG features CANDICE CASAGRANDE as the ACG band/artist of the week. ACG would like to congratulate Candice for recently winning 4 North Coast Dolphin Awards and her many other achievements. You can hear her songs and find out more about her by going to her myspace site, which is located as our No 1 friend for this week.

Born in Lismore on the north coast of NSW, Candice Casagrande grew up writing poetry with sand between her toes and an acoustic guitar. This brilliant coastal artist writes intelligent acoustic / pop songs that will knock on the door of your heart, promise hope and challenge any stale mind-sets. Her artistically constructed lyrics are a trademark, allowing her songs to grip people with more than just a catchy tune.

During the release of her EP “Fearless Heart” in 2007 Candice actively came alongside teenage girls in the local area dealing with issues of self harm, suicide and eating disorders. In 2008; amongst performing at festivals, local venues, surfing and recording at studio 301 Byron Bay Candice reached No.1 indie/folk artist on mp3.com and top 5 finalist in the Music Oz Awards. The first single from her album “Make it a good 1” was instantly welcomed on high rotation by popular radio station 100.9 ZZZ Fm.

2009 has been a tide of success for Candice with International recognition in the Prestigious Unisong International Songwriting Contest and taking home 4 North Coast Dolphin Awards for 'Song Of The Year', 'Pop', 'Devotional' and best 'Female Vocal'. Candice performed to packed audiences at the Workers Club Lismore (NSW), Sonfest and Easterfest (QLD) for the release of her debut album ‘New Day’ deeming her North Coasts best selling Female Artist! The self-titled album is available from Koorong stores Australia wide, All Music & Vision locally, itunes and live shows.

The Rider on the White Horse

11I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter."[a] He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
17And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, "Come, gather together for the great supper of God, 18so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great."

19Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army. 20But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. 21The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

 

ACG FEATURED BAND OF THE WEEK - PURIFIED

This week ACG is proud to feature a christian rapper band, PURIFIED.  Check out their song on the ACG player, and their myspace for more info and their gigs coming up.  

Purified are a highly established Christian rapper from Australia and is releasing their solo album (Dont Hold Back) on may 30th, 09. The Album features some of Christian raps heavy hitters such as K-Drama, Braille, Sean Slaughter, Mark Arthur and others. The album was produced by Tony Stone(Cross Movement, Lecrae, Trip Lee, Flame, Da TRUTH etc..) The major theme of this album is to combat complacency in the church, its a sermon on beats that captures the listener and aims to inspire them to live sold out for God.
