Hello,
You may have noticed that all has been a bit quiet on the Tim and Sam front over the summer. Aside from the odd gig/ festival here and there we've been beavering away behind the scenes, so I thought I'd update you on what's been going on.
Some of you may remember some blogs about the recording of the album. Go
here and scroll down to remind yourselves.
7 of the tracks we recorded during those sessions made up the Put Your Slippers On EP. The rest were going to end up on an album, but time passed by and it never got released. We eventually decided to go back into the studio this summer to re-vamp it. We've chopped and changed it and made it a whole lot better in the process.
We're now at the mixing stage and the end is in sight, bar a few extra (very exciting) surprises which should come together over the next couple of months. Because of this, we're going to aim to release the as yet untitled album in January/ February next year.
In the meantime, we're going to record yet more material and release another EP in November. We're taking a different approach this time - we're going to record it live using old analogue equipment and limit ourselves to only a handful of instruments (as opposed to the truckload that'll be on the album!). It's going to be a very stripped back affair.
We'll be packing our bags and heading to the outskirts of Rochdale to record it, and we'll blog our process as we go along. More details about the release, and accompanying gigs, will come soon.
Thanks,
Tim and Sam x
