[16 May 2008 | Friday]

Current mood:  angry

recently i have been involved in a discussion on one of my school forums. it is always interesting to watch these topics in these forums morph into something that is totally unlike what the topic originally started as. one of them has caused me to almost have a meltdown.

i have been a Soldier for 14 years. happily, i might add. it is an awesome job that a lot of people have no concept about. there are a lot of preconceptions about military service that are not true at all.yet, thanks to hollywood, moronic celebrities, and the liberally-biased media, Soldiers are still looked at as war mongering jackals, or thralls forced to 'just follow orders' like some Nazi.

i need to spout here. there are some people that can't hear any other side of a discussion because the sound of their own voice deafens them to everything else.

  1. military service is 100% voluntary. there is no draft, no one is forced into it, and everyone in it has the idea that they may go to war. any moron that actually thinks they will never have to deploy or actually take another human's life is the true definition of STUPID. anyone that is 'against the deaths of innocent people' seems to not understand the big picture, or what is really going on in the world. 'i am against the deaths of innocent people' is not only hypocritical, but ignorant of reality. also, we don't kill innocent people. example: a platoon of american infantry moves through a village. american soldiers are ordered to never engage 'non-combatants.' however, insurgents start shooting at the americans, a firefight ensues, and several civilians wind up getting killed.

how is that the fault of the american soldier? answer: it isn't. look at the big picture- like in afghanistan, the people that live here cannot do anything for themselves, like secure their own country. so, they beg us for help. in the process of giving them that help, people die. don't like it? then secure your own country.

  2. armchair generals are the worst form of ignorant morons on the planet, next to bleeding heart liberals. we have a saying here in the Army: never second guess the commander on the ground. it boils down to this: you weren't there to see everything, so keep your ignorant, self-righteous opinions to yourself. your right to free speech does NOT cancel out my right to kick the ever-loving shit out of you for spreading falsities simply because you 'think' your opinion is correct. so screw you and your ignorance. your ignorant opinions can lead to guys like me suffering or dying- therefore i have a strong personal interest in shutting up your ignorance, you stupid pricks. i wish sometimes that it was the other way around: that i could go on the net and make statements that would get your homes broken into and your sanctity and your family's violated. then maybe you would know the reality of the world. you would finally understand that your opinion does NOT need to be spread everywhere. you are NOT important- you are a civilian cow sitting on your couch eating potato chips and being fed an opinion by another self righteous asshole. my God you people piss me off.

  3. civilians have no clear understanding of what is really going on in the world today. to get that kind of intel, they need to leave the comfort of their living room, and the security of their country (where the rule of law prevails) and actually go to a third world shithole to see what is happening. and not the 'sean penn guided moron tour,' either. until people start doing that, don't say a fucking thing about what is going on here, because YOU DO NOT KNOW.

  4.  unless you are willing to join the military and deploy and demonstrate your patriotism, then do not for a second open your damn mouth and voice an opinion on any conflict we are engaged in. show the country the depth of your appreciation for our constitution, and do a stint in defense of it. serve your fellow american citizen. until you are willing to do that, shut the fuck up about what the army is doing and how we are doing it. because, once again, YOU KNOW NOTHING.

i am so shocked at the amount of ignorance in people. some of you just plain out do not get it, but because your mommys never told you to be quiet, you seem to think you are entitled to burden everyone else with your crap. holy shit- some of you really need your asses kicked in the worst way.

  here:

if you never served in the military in defense of this country, SHUT UP.

if you weren't there to see it happen first-hand, SHUT UP.

if all you do is surf the internet for your sources of information, SHUT UP.

if all you can do is see 'conspiracy' in everything, SHUT UP.

if you think for a second that the media is fair and honest, SHUT UP.

i think i am finished with this whole myspace thing. i am finished with so many people in my life. i cannot handle the ignorance and stupidity of people. i have served this country for 14 years, putting it in front of my own family at times, and i get assholes spouting false crap, telling me what i am doing, telling me i am wrong, even when i have seen things with my own eyes. my mind can't take this anymore.

hey asshole- and you know who i am talking to- i am also against the killing of innocents. but if an 8 year old kid points a fucking pistol at one of my men, THEN I BLOW HIS FUCKING HEAD OFF WITHOUT HESITATION. if you don't have the fucking balls to do that in defense of one of your own buddies, then point the pistol at yourself. you piece of shit.

i am fucking finished with this shit.

Yay for you Gary. Holier than thou pricks are so annoying. It sounds like you've ran into more than your fair share this week (if not lifetime...vfcc-right?) Only problem is when you get mad it gives them fuel and makes them feel even more important cause you are listening. Do you put your ear to your ass and listen to a fart? and these people are even less than that. I'm glad you got to vent but don't waste your energy and resources on these idiots.

Amazing, I think, how people can have great opinions about stuff when they have the freedom to say it. All the liberals and especially celebrities talking how war is horrible. yeah, it is but they act like if the US disbanded the military, everyone else would too and the world would be filled with rainbows. Then some *&?ed up dictator takes over our country militarily and beats the crap out of them or publicly executes them for opening their mouth and they would scream how unfair it is and how we need to do something. War was waged in Heaven. It will be waged here on Earth until Christ ends the whole thing by destroying this world and making a new Heaven and a new Earth. Then there will be no more war (too bad, and a bit ironic, most of those celebrities won't be there for it since they love kaballah and scientology so much. I pray they see the light). Until then, war will be a fact of life. There are few times in Earth's history when war wasn't going on somewhere. The thing people need to understand is war is not the problem, it's the evil people trying to opress others that are the problem, then the people who care go to war to defend those who can't defend themselves or to protect their own freedom. You don't want war, great, just don't complain when your news paper and tv are government run and they tell you what to think, when you have to stand in line for toilet paper, you are handed rations to eat because the leader of the country is giving the food to himself and his friends and his military and you get what's left over, or when you just get blown to hell because we lay down our arms. Gary, thank you for what you have sacrificed so much for, which unfortuneately includes the freedom for idiots to spout off. God bless you and I hope you get to go home to your family soon.

Gary, my brother, you know that you are 1st and foremost in my mind. My Father, mother, wife, brother, sister and I are so proud of you, Gary! You will be welcome in any of my houses, friends houses, etc from here to eternity. All you need do is ask, my brother. My friend and brother, you are prayed for daily as are your men, whether they be new or old compatriots. I'm sorry to here of your latest struggle when it comes to new men to train. Aren't you coming home in May, this year! It'd be about time! I can't wait to see you again and have that Jersey Pizza with you, my brother! Nothing like Jersey food. Italian, Irish, American food again. Damn, Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese on a bagel again! The South and West Coast has nothing on East Coast Cookin'!

Gary,

I think that the people who really, "get it" and are your friends support what you are doing completely. I tell my two sons all the time about, "my friend who protects their freedoms by fighting in Afghanistan" and they look forward to meeting you when you return. What's amazing to me is not that you fight for our freedoms, but that our rules of engagement ask you to "get shot at without preemptive strikes" for our freedom. I, for one, am proud to be considered your friend...
