Doesn't take much to make me happy, which is a good thing.  As you can see, I inserted a countdown clock -- let me explain:

Creating Jildos is what I do and is an intrinsic part of my personality.  I'm also taught since high school to be a good secretary and, with the help of my husband, morphed that into basic training for running my own business.  But Up in Smoke is the culmination of who I am as a social being, connected to both my little personal world and the universe at large.

As a blended family who came together in midlife, Mike & I found that the holidays were already 'taken' -- we always went to someone else's for Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.  For Labor Day, as well, we gathered at a family member's -- BUT over the years inherited that holiday spot and . . . well, really expanded -- expounded -- evolved it into a major family and friends gathering which is held each year at our place.  Also, too, our actual related family is small and we have been blessed with wonderful friends-turned-core family who also come to visit.  There is food, music, fireworks, lots and lots of camaraderie.  This year, Mike & I are renewing our vows -- we've just achieve the big   2-0!

So, I'm sure I'll blog more about the Gathering, just wanted to let you know why the Clock -- and, BTW, on a continued personal note, still no Beagle -- still holding out hope.
