this is yet another friendly note from your favorite ivory-billed, red-bellied, sap-sucking string band – woodpecker!

we've got a lot of summer news to share with you, as well as an invitation to a very special upcoming show at banjo jim's on 10/16 @ 7pm. the show is part of the college music journal's (CMJ) '07 music marathon and film festival!!!

Summer Review:

it's been an incredible summer with the release of our first full-length cd!  the album received some fabulous reviews that you can read on our website at www.myspace.com/woodpeckermusic. plus, you can now buy our album directly from us at our website (see above) or on i-tunes. all summer long we've been busy hand-folding each and every one of these beauties, so you'll receive them with personal kisses from us!

we also now have a podcast posted on our website where al, jordan and josh play dj and talk about some of our favorite music - old and new. give it a listen, if you have a chance. be warned though - if you don't know already, we are huge dorks. you can hear it at:  http://www.woodpeckermusic.com/podcast/podcast1.mp3.

hmmmmm...what else? recently, we've written a bunch of new material that we're super excited about. we plan to play them at our upcoming shows. in july, we played in front of our largest crowd ever at mccarren park pool! there are some photos (and more to come) on our website. it was a lot of fun.

so, just a couple of weeks ago, we got some more exciting news - woodpecker! is playing the College Music Journal (CMJ) '07 Music Marathon and Film Festival!!! we look forward to seeing you.

WHERE:  banjo jim's @ 700 east 9th street (east village)
