oh how the fates have intervened to pull together this powerful quartet. it all started when I (james) moved in next door to Jerod and he kept bugging me to bring my guitar over to jam with him. I was avoiding this. having never found a musician i could work with I was not looking forward to another dissappointment. Finally, he talked me into it and in total amazement we started rocking out like i never have before. it was fun. yet uncomplete. one day i decided that i wanted to sing and went on the lookout for a guitarist that had a style that matched jerods' mad drum skills. almost as soon as I said this out loud I found him. joe stephan. damn the stars had aligned. he walked in, blew us away and before long we began composing. over the coarse of about a year our skills were just soaring and we had this mental link with each other that was uncomparable. we didnt have to know a song, we just played it. we felt each other and never missed a beat. we would pull random shit out of our sleaves and make it sound like we had played it for years. songs just seemed to fall out of the sky. this is where i have found that the creation of a song is much less intentional than we ever try to make it. its almost a devine experience, especially when multiple artists are involved. everyone has material, everyone has an idea of what they want, but when something perfect comes out the other side it is like a slap in the face. maybe the real job of a musician is to notice this and grasp it. not to create it but to find it and slowly mold it into a living breathing force. i digress. the days went by and we kicked out the jams as much as we could. our equipement was low end and falling apart but we tweeked it and made it work. as time has gone by the equipement has only gotten more beat up but we still tread on. this cannot be stopped. now we had this friend Josh. he has to be mentioned here because we were teaching him how to play the bass. yes two guitarists and a drummer filling this blank slate with bass skills we didnt have. we always told him that we will play with him and maybe even play shows with him but dont be surprised if we find some prodigy and start rocking with him/her. he was cool with that and didnt expect any less but surprisingly his skills grew fast and he became real fun to jam with. we eventually moved our jam sessions from jerods living room to my garage and that was really the next step. we had much better acoustics and more availability to jam. we were all very excited. and then a mutual friend of the band, Carrie, brought over this kid named rob and he picked up a bass and showed us what he had. and well, he had a lot. this kid had a funky style that we could not ignore. josh kind of moved on. he still jams with us sometimes . but now, here we are. rockin our hearts out at every oportunity and loving this experience. we hope that everyone who listens is just as intrigued as we are with this wonderful music we have discovered and we are looking forward to as much input as you are willing to give
