Hello all.  In a few days time, we are beginning our week long recording project entitled At First Light: New Music from the West Point Band's Jazz Knights.

The project's primary focus will be on new, original music, the majority of which were written by our members.  Two of the compositions are commissions written for the band in 2005, one of which is the title track, At First Light, written by Jeff Holmes (jazz program director at the University of MA, Amherst). The other is a modern jazz composition by trombonist Mike Fahie entitled The Monster Brooks No Pretense.

Also on the list of arrangers for this project from the Jazz Knights are SFC Scott Arcangel (piano), SSG Mike Reifenberg (lead alto), and SSG Mark Tonelli (guitar).
