Current mood:  blessed
Category: Life

A while back I wrote about Bill Dykes and I on the road.  Well we are doing the same run and damn.  While Bill has since gotten seriously into Law and Order, which scares me, much has changed.  Though he is still featuring with me, I now consider him a co-headliner and soon to be a great headliner.  But, I'm not talking about comedy, I'm talking about cooking.  Yep, we got the coals hot and we are getting ready to do an Arkansas throwdown.

When you put to people together that love what they do, comedy and cooking, you got one hell of a road trip on your night off.  We got some chicken, some crown, some beer, some jalapeno, some onion, some tomatoes, some badass BBQ sauce from Coleman's and Woody's.    Coleman's you can find, Woody's you got to know where to find that pulled porked sandwich.  It's in Waldenburg, Arkansas, population 80 on the corner of Arkansas 49 and 14.  Man, this is the best, that we have found.  But, we continue the hunt for the best "pulled pork" sandwich.

The coals are hot, the beer is cold, and the crown, well it's crown.  This is the life a a road comic, dog, warrior.  This is the life I have----Thank you God.

No receipe tonight, sorry Elizabeth, but this will be short.  I have Law and Order and all the things I love in life.  FREEDOM is BBQing in Russellville, Arkansas with a great friend and a great comic.

IT DON'T GET BETTER THAN THIS.

I was looking forward to another recipe after my etouffee success story. (Not sure I spelled etouffee right, though) Glad you're having fun! See ya around Beaumont any time soon?

Oh I'll do another receipe. I was going to do gumbo, but that's a fall dish, it's too hot for gumbo. Maybe my brisket receipe, that's good for summer.

You're right, it is too hot for gumbo. You wanna hear the funniest shit ever- my dad is from Dublin, Ireland & makes his "gumbo" once or twice a year. He's never even heard of a roux & I don't have the heart to tell him his gumbo is terrible- he's my dad. I just say thanks & eat it.........but some brisket recipes would be mighty nice!
