Video, Oregon, Gratitude, Coffee Factory…

so where to begin…first apologies for not getting back to everyone sooner…i’ve been so busy on so many fronts…like the video…oh man…the video…i can’t wait to share the video shoot results with you… bruce (juicerocks.com) did such a heartwarming job editing it…i’m so pleased and proud of it…mistakes and all…it’s what i do…the way i do it…who i am…i could not be more delighted…and i am so grateful…

even more so because  john bright came that night and passed away the next day…ironically the last song he heard me perform was the first song and only song i heard him sing…how do i explain how sacred and haunting it is to hear melody’s voice without his on the video…knowing he was in the room just behind her…and how is it possible that he made my daughter’s song more sacred to me in his silence that night…john was a retired military and commercial pilot…what i’d give to hear his voice singing ‘bout to fly, bout to fly, about to fly-eeeee again…in a way i always will…

and then there was oregon…i met such nice people and amazing artists…the music was such a treat …how do you thank a wonderful friend for hosting you and driving you all over the place for a week…at all hours of the day and night…sharing the highs and lows…putting up with you teaching her basset hound to sing along…how do you thank the venues like muddy waters and twin paradox for opening their doors to a complete stranger…and the cherry city music festival for inviting 150 performing artist…

and how do i express gratitude to everyone that has extended me work and friendship…and housing…6 months ago i didn’t know how i was going to put a roof over my head…and now i’m having to choose between living in a beautiful home in the woods with my best friend and his wife…and several other amazing and generous offers…i am truly blessed to be surrounded by so much dream true love and support…

on the business/performance front…i’m backing off the pub scene for a bit…and focusing more on feature performances and listening room venues…primarily to allow me to express what’s in me and to help me grow as a musician and performer by building deeper connections with the music, audience and other performing artist…the goal is to learn new songs and work up arrangements with some of the amazing musicians i’ve met on this journey...and share that process, growth and musical magic with you…

so with that said, i am very excited to be starting a weekly sunday afternoon “dale reynolds and friends” from 1-3pm at the coffee factory in derry, nh…it’s a great comfy airy room that loves intimate levels of sound…and serves up microbrews and yummy sandwiches along with  pastries baked and coffee beans roasted on onsite…so come watch and listen as a variety of artists share their talent individually and collectively…check www.myspace.com/dalereynolds  for the current schedule/details.

Finally…back to the video…this attempt at catching up doesn’t allow me to share all the details making that night so memorable (like the smile flashed at john during frank’s song)…the goal was to capture one or two moments that give an honest representation of my performances for booking and marketing purposes…the results far exceeded the plan and i’d love to share the entire performance and details with you…so for starters I’ll be uploading some of the copyrighted songs to youtube soon (others won’t  be because of lyric errors or unsecured copyright rights)…several of you have expressed  interest in getting copies…so here’s the deal…if i can get 26 people to commit $10 each then I can get a batch made with a case and liner notes…send me an email if you are interested and if there’s enough interest we’ll figure out how to coordinate the effort…
