Welcome to Arms Forest. So much has been happening both in-front-of and behind the scenes, that we figured it was due time to let the cats out of their respective bags. 1) First off, The Hard Lessons reported feeling "moved" by the amount of hometown love they received at the second annual DIY Street Fair in Ferndale. Aside from the Arms Forest Release weekend, it was only the second Detroit area performance for the band this year and they were once again reminded that there's no place like home. There's no place like home. There's no place like home. Check out photos from the night courtesy of Nathan Kanaebel available on his Flickr page! 2) Speaking of home, THL will represent both their state and country at the Fillmore on Saturday, November 28 as they team up with Canada's Sam Roberts Band and Sloan at 93.9's Winter Icebreaker. TICKETS ON SALE FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! 3) It should be noted that THL's very own Mrs. Ko Ko Louise has had the honor of contributing vocal stylings to several records from albums soon to be coming your way. Pick up Kill by Electric Six on October 20 and marvel at the beautiful hook on "Simulated Love." Ko Ko also got together with recently re-energized and re-formed Detroit rock vets The Sights to contribute some vocals to their forthcoming Most Of What Follows Is True. Be sure to check upcoming tour dates for a few THL/Sights shows coming to Ohio and Michigan! 4) A few weeks ago, THL performed a secret show under a fake name at Ann Arbor's Metal Frat. Also on the bill were Flint's hometown heroes The Swellers who recently signed a big record deal with FBR and will be heading out on an endless tour with the likes of Motion City Soundtrack and Paramore. Not bad considering the first time THL and The Swellers shared the stage they were barely old enough to drive! Congrats dudes... And check out this video of Augie helping them out with an impromptu version of Lithium at 2:00 am or something. Oh yeah, and the fake name? The Paramores, because ever band sounds better with a "The"! Much more to come... Yours, Rod Serling
