Ghosts do not exist....PERIOD! Demons are in the business of deception. Well meaning people are easily deceived by a demonic sophistry of insight, and thus unwittingly become agents of infiltrating demons that find a welcome and easy portal to infiltrate and inflict their influence by deception. What concerns me, and I see that you feel this the same as I do, is how much energy Satan has extended to promote the doctrine of "ghosts" as disembodied human spirits. Look at all the horror movies, books, and other obviously diabolical satanic propaganda putting forth this idea. Why is Satan so interested in convincing people it is so? From my experience, that I am still engaged in and wearing full spritual combat regalia, I have come to a better and more realistic look at this so-called ghost phoneme, that we have all been deceived and people might want to reconsider if they have been "had" as was I in this case thinking that we have the audacity to think there is not the chasm between Heaven and hell that we know is there and the movements of the dead are very limited between the two. Can the Dead Communicate With the Living? According to the Bible, No! If there is any supernatural activity in the séance, it is most certainly not the spirit of the departed one speaking through the medium. It is not possible according to the Scriptures to contact the spirits of the dead. Jesus made this very clear with the account of the rich man and Lazarus. In Luke 16: 19-31 we read, there was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury everyday. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, "father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire." But Abraham replied, ..Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.' He answered, ..Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.' Abraham replied, ..They have Moses and the Prophets, let them listen to them.' "No, ..father Abraham, he said, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.'" He said, to him, ..If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.' Two things need to be noted about this passage: 1. There is a great gulf fixed between the abode of the righteous dead and the unrighteous dead which no one can cross. The dead, in other words, are limited in their movement. 2. The rich man was refused permission to warn his five brothers of their impending fate if they did not repent. The passage indicates, along with the rest of the Scripture, that the dead are not allowed to speak to the living on any matter. The response in this case was that the brothers needed to believe what God had said to escape their doom rather than a voice from the dead. Jesus declared that those who harden their hearts against the very words of God through Moses and the prophets would not listen to one returned from the dead. This is proven by those who reject the Gospel of Jesus Christ today. Jesus Christ did rise from the dead and yet people still reject His Word. THE DESTINY OF A KING WHO CALLED THE SPIRIT OF THE DEAD We read in the Old Testament about Saul the first king of Israel, a God fearing man, who at one time killed all the witches and sorcerers. However, when he did wrong, God turned His face away from him. When Saul wanted to fight with the Philistines, he sought God's counsel, but He did not answer Saul. Instead of soul searching and repenting from his sins in the presence of God, Saul asked a woman (sorcerer) to call the spirit of Samuel (who was a great prophet of God, and was dead at the time). The woman called Samuel's spirit for the king to counsel. When Samuel's spirit was called, he said: Why have you called and distressed me? This false spirit was an evil one that had showed himself as Samuel's spirit. Mediums or sorcerers absolutely have no access to call the spirits of dead people, any manifestation belongs to evil spirits and their job is deceiving the people and bringing them under the curse of God to get control over them and their offspring. This wrong doing was the reason God turned His face from Saul, took away his kingship and gave it to David. Saul died in his sin. Well meaning people can go far wrong, especially so if they are "learning" doctrine from demons, rather than God! GOOD BLOG!
 

To say Ghosts as the disembodied spirits of past earth dwellers do not exist is not really something we can be sure of. That's a broad blanket statement that is too general take as absolute. To also say that a seance never produced a spirit of an actual person who once lived on the earth is completely untrue. Take the scripture in the bible where king Saul went to a woman that had a familiar spirit at endor to talk to the departed prophet Samuel. And she did call Samuel forth and he did talk to king Saul 1 samuel 28:7-20.  As far as the dead comunicating with the living i too am sceptical. But to say that it can't happen using  Luke 16: 19-31 as a reference scripture is a flawed argument. Those scriptures only show that the dead in heaven can't visit the dead in hell or those in hell can't visit those in heaven. We have no evidence that anything according to the scriptures can come out of hell at least that i know of, but we know Jacob in Genesis dreamed about a stairway that went from earth to heaven and angels went up and down it. Gen 28:12. Is it possible that the dead in paradise can travel to earth and back. I don't see why they would want to but again to say that they don't, wouldn't, haven't or aren't allowed we really can't say.
