LITA FORD BREAKS HER SILENCE ABOUT THE RUNAWAYS MOVIE
Scout Taylor Compton Brings Her Heart & Soul to Lake Tahoe

Queen of Metal Lita Ford is finally speaking out about the infamous bio-pic on her former band, the Runaways, which stars Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett, Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie, and Scout Taylor Compton as Lita.

"Most people would want to be in a movie, but I sure didn't want anything to do with this one," admits Lita about the film, which has the working title of The Runaways. "They're using my name and that makes me nervous as some of the people involved have tried to destroy my career since 1980."

However, Lita's attitude changed a bit after Scout Taylor Compton, the 20-year-old actress who portrays her in the film, made a special trip out to Lake Tahoe , Nevada on Saturday to see her perform with Queensryche.

"After meeting Scout this weekend, I feel so much better," continues Lita. "She has a heart and soul, unlike some of the people behind the movie. She also hawks a mean loogey and really is a lot like me. We both cried the first time we spoke. Scout rocks."

And, Scout thinks Lita rocks too. "Lita Ford is an icon of rock and has always been a personal hero of mine," says the actress, who is also a singer and drummer. "I can't wait for her to see the film. I put my heart and soul into portraying her and to find out she is such an amazing person was truly a blessing for me. It's something I'll never forget!"

Scout has earned herself the title of "scream queen" with key roles in such horror films as Rob Zombie's Halloween remake, April Fool's Day, Murder World, and Wicked Little Things. She has also appeared in such films as Obsessed with Beyonce, the A.F.I. film A.W.O.L., Jennifer Garner's 13 Going on 30, and the teen comedy Sleepover, and such TV shows as Charmed, Without a Trace, and Cold Case.

The Runaways is directed by Floria Sigismondi, who is best known for directing music videos by such artists as David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, and Sheryl Crow, and hits theaters nationwide in 2010.

I don't support the movie at all.
I like Scout and that's where it ends.
I will NEVER work with the people behind this movie.
I'm trying to be nice...

Yeah well when people douche you around you have a right to disagree with them profiting off of your image. Especially if their actions have been less than friendly to it, you, and your career in the past. I prefer to think of the movie as a portal of evil conjured by greed mongers through which also a percentage of young tween, teen, and twenty-somethings will benefit in being inadvertently introduced to real music. =D

Scout's a good actress. I'm sure she'll do you justice, provided the movie was written in a way that allows it.

Even though I am not sure about this movie, I am however, always thought that Scout would make a good Lita. I am happy that her and Lita got to meet and Lita feels good about that aspect of the movie. :)

I'm trying to find more on this lil child playing Lita. Cuz it seems they just picked whom ever. They should of choose better for this whole movie. Now I love the runaways. But I love Lita better. So if she says this chic is cool then I guess so. I'm not that excited about the movie. Why not have them just play super heros I meam Dakota fanning in it oh brother no!! Lita rocks forever and always!!!!!!!

Love Lita's comment "I'm trying to be nice".  It's pathetic and desperate that Kitty Litter (figure it out) is STILL trying to sabotage Lita's career.  I never could figure that one out.  I remember in the 80's Kitty Litter was even pressuring songwriters not to write with her.  He had his chance to manage The Runaways in the 70's and blew it - wish he'd get the f over it cuz it's really none of his business anyway.
I'll definitely see the movie though since I've been a fan of The Runaways for more years than I wanna admit.  I like Scout and I'm sure that she'll do a more than adequate job.  I don't think that the movie will focus much on Lita anyway (unfortunately).  Love all the gals, miss you Sandy, love you Lita!  Glad you're back, baby!!!

Everyone is going to have to watch this film knowing that it is not seen through Lita's eyes...if she wasn't involved and she doesn't endorse it... then it might be entertaining, but in all reality, it may not be accurate at all... just ask John Lydon how he felt about "Sid & Nancy"....

Scout might be an awesome person but I still say this movie is going to blow. It's going to have nothing of importance to do with The Runaways. The MUSICAL HISTORY of the Runaways needs to be told. Not all the drama. The Runaways were brilliant and so before their time. I love those albums with all my heart. Not looking forward to this Hollywood version of the Runaways. We need some middle ground between Joan and Lita so it can be properly documented. Not some stupid Cherie and Joan love story. ugh.

well I can understand you wanna leave this back but it seems business loves the Runaways cos it still stay in mind of people! For sure seeing a girl playing Lita must be something cos you are not copyable lol

but I'll check it out though cos I'm curious and love movies as you!!!

it has nothing to do with the real documentary but fiction hasn't got anymore imagination and appart Horror and destroying the world Cinema is done for long !

So now we have movies about real life events or stories hope this will be funny and not too much about decadence and drugs... cos too many films are crap like the doors....etc..

This is a relief, 'cuz I was really on the fence about this film, especially knowing that not everybody involved with the band was behind the idea.

Ok I'm sure Ill get shit for this...but I am actually looking forward to seeing this movie. I think all of the actress's will do a fine job. From what Ive read Kristen seems really into it, as does Scout. Ive also purhased (and enjoyed) Edgeplay, which has its merits too. The Runaways are an important part of rock and roll history, so selfishly I am glad to see them on the bigscreen.....maybee we will be pleasantly surprised.

I'm sorry to hear that the people behind The Runaways movie were not supportive of your career. I was really looking forward to seeing the movie but not so sure now. When The Runaways were in their heyday I was 15 and me and everyone of my friends had a favorite girl in the band. It makes me sad that you were treated like that because every member should have been treated with respect concerning this movie and involved. Rock On Lita! You are the best!

i still have all runaways albums( thats right  records) loved it then  love it now. didn't have a favorite in the band because they were a band. i hope this film is good and does not tarnish what the runaways really were, abunch of kids playing rock and roll and having a blast. that is rock and roll

Hollywood is out of ideas, they find an AMAZING band like the Runaways and are going to try to sensationalize it to make a quick buck. Why will the movie suck? Because the ladies of the runaways (R.I.P Sandy) aren't involved....

the good thing about this film though is that it will introduce the AMAZING music of the Runaways to a whole new generation of fans, they will get to see what GOOD rock n roll is about. We SHOULD have a movie about Lita's career with Lita involved, now THAT would be fun!!!!! I mean how many women have flames come off of their guitar when shredding like Lita?!?!!
