IFP Phoenix features a Member of the Month s/he is a filmmaker that has worked to set the bar high for film in Arizona.
This month features the filmmaking team of Brian and Dean Ronalds. They have been a fixture in the Phoenix indie filmmaking scene for years and their first feature film, NETHERBEAST, INCORPORATED comes out on DVD this month.

Amanda Melby IFP: When did you first know you wanted to be filmmakers?
Ronalds Brothers RB: We knew we wanted to be a part at a very young age. So we we’re first drawn to the acting aspect of the craft of filmmaking.
IFP: Which filmmakers and actors, living or dead, inspire you?
RB: Jim Jarmusch, Gus Van Sant, Julian Schnabel, Neil Simon
IFP: What’s the one thing you can’t live without on a set?
RB: Quietness
IFP: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten about acting?
RB: Always finish what you start and NEVER make excuses!
IFP: What are the things you do to prepare for a film?
RB: Getting emotionally connected to each character and knowing there arcs.
IFP: What’s the strangest thing you’ve done for a film?
RB: Pretend that their head was exploding.
IFP: What does the future of independent filmmaking look like?
RB: An exciting world where lower budget pictures will be widely accepted.
IFP: What are your current projects?
RB: THE GRAVES(in post released 09), Two UNTITLED comedies written by RB and Bruce Dellis’ Pet Rock
IFP: Describe a highlight of your career so far.
RB: Working with Robert Wagner on a couple of projects.

IFP: What are the benefits of having an organization such as IFP Phoenix in the community how has it directly or indirectly helped you?
RB: This fantastic community allows filmmakers to not only work and mix with one another but it gives the public an opportunity to see independent films they wouldn’t normally get to see.
