This past weekend I drove to out to Nevada and voluntereed for the
Obama Campaign. I went door to door talking to hundreds of people about politics and it was truly an amazing experience.
No matter who you candidate is, right now is an unbelievable chance to get out and do something that celebrates what this country was founded on.
There is still plenty of time left to volunteer. I've always been a person who has said, "I'd love to help but I'm just too busy" I never realized you can make a huge difference by doing little things. You don't need to invest a lot of time, you can make phone calls from home/office, you can drive out to a swing state and go door to door, even bring food to your local campaign office. All that stuff helps.
Barack's Sitehas a very easy way to find events in your area (by your zip code) and I guarantee that any time you spend volunteering, will make you feel great about the role we each can play in democracy.
Also a huge hats off to all the people who have been volunteering tirelessly week after week to make a difference in their states. I met some really awe inspiring volunteers this weekend who work 9AM-Midnight almost everyday and have more energy at the end of the day then I have all day. These are the people that truly making a difference in this election.
