COCOROSIE EMBARK ON FIRST NORTH AMERICAN TOUR SINCE 2007

On September 2nd CocoRosie will kick off their first North American tour in over two years. Sisters Bianca and Sierra Casady will be joined by bassist Josh Werner and beatboxer Spleen on 14 dates in the US and Canada.

Included in their set will be material from their new album, slated for a 2010 release.

Back in 2007, during the first week of the Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn tour, CocoRosie encountered difficulties at the Canadian border. The tour was cancelled and the band returned to Paris to regroup. At that time we never imagined it would be such a long wait before they would perform again in North America. Now, many moons later, it is our pleasure to announce the following CocoRosie tour dates:

Wed 9/2 New York, NY Highline Ballroom
Thur 9/3 Washington, DC Black Cat
Sat 9/5 Boston, MA Paradise
Sun 9/6 Quebec, PQ Le Circle
Mon 9/7 Montreal, PQ Le National
Wed 9/9 Toronto, ON Lee's Palace
Thur 9/10 Detroit, MI Crofoot
Fri 9/11 Chicago, IL Logan Square
Tue 9/15 Seattle, WA King's Cat
Wed 9/16 Vancouver, BC Red Room
Thur 9/17 Portland, OR Alladin
Sat 9/19 Yosemite, CA Symbiosis
Mon 9/21 Los Angeles, CA Henry Fonda

CocoRosie’s music and story is unique, occasionally unsettling and always captivating. From their minimalist beginnings in 2003, as an acoustic folk vocal duo to their latest kalidescopic live revue, CocoRosie have consistently evolved and delighted in pushing boundaries and defying expectations.

Since the release of Adventures Of Ghosthorse and Stillborn in April 2007, CocoRosie has been on a journey of creative endeavors. Highlights include:

An elaborate sold out show at the prestigious L’Olympia hall in Paris with handmade costumes and a trapeze artist.

A collaboration with the Royal Dutch Orchestra at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

Bianca Casady's numerous art exhibits including the Deitch Projects Gallery in New York.

Sierra Casady's collaboration with French artist Loris Gréaud on an exclusive musical interpretation of the French opera “Cellar Door” libretto, performed at the Londan ICA .

Somewhere in the midst of all that, they found time to rehab a storefront in Paris to create Mad Vickys Tea Gallery and release “God Has A Voice, She Speaks Through Me” (2008), a limited edition picture 7" and digital single and video on Touch and Go Records.
