• The Background

There aren't many labels in Drum & Bass that can claim to be '10 years in the game'. Throughout jungle's history, countless imprints have come and gone without leaving a lasting legacy. Only the strongest survive, and next month, Technique Recordings joins that elite list, celebrating a decade on the dancefloor.

The brainchild of Drumsound & Simon 'Bassline' Smith, Technique Recordings and it's sister offshoot Worldwide Audio has become one of the most consistent and successful imprints around. From the first single 'Future Tech', through the undisputed anthems 'Junglist (which reached number 60 in the national charts)', 'Stigmata' and 'I Need Your Love', to recent smashes 'Cold Turkey' 'Body Pump' and 'Belly Dancer', it's maintained a constant presence on the world's dancefloors, and received rotation from most top DJs on the planet. The label is also home to exciting artists from throughout the globe: Phetsta from Australia, American connection Terravita, as well as home-grown talents Youngman, Tantrum Desire and Technicolour.

• The Album

To celebrate this landmark in their history, Derby's finest have lined up a very special album project, entitled, '10 Years of Technique’. Featuring hard-to-find classics, remixes of some of the imprint's biggest tunes, as well as exclusive fresh tracks, it will come in the form of 4 x 12” , 2 x EP’s and a mammoth double CD.
The entire Technique Recordings roster (Drumsound & Bassline Smith, Youngman, Phetsta, Terravita, Technicolour & Tantrum Desire) feature on the album.

Selected tracks will be released on vinyl with over 40 tracks on the double CD

All tracks will be available to download from itunes, Beatport, Drum & Bass Arena, Dogs on Acid, Trackitdown and all good stores.

Release dates will be spaced and spread across the entire year commencing in May 09

It promises to mark the labels birthday in spectacular fashion, and put down a marker for the next 10 years.
