review by Ross Gilchrist

"On the last night of their tour Our Lunar Activities play the brimming Go North Stage with a local following on hand to send them off on holiday. Vocalist Charlie Clark, would make you swear he was American and Brian Molko's brother. It's alternative rock, with the tempo sensibilities of emo, a time capsule from the nineties. When bands like My Vitriol (remember them?) were tipped to be the next big thing. There's a twist though, the song writing is very modern, with influences ranging from the guitars of Pixies, to the harmonies of Jimmy Eat World and Idlewild, mixed with a chordal sensibility that most bands lack. Google them!"

I have never listened to Placebo... not knocking them, just asking to stop comparing us to them. It drives me insane! —Charlie

Have you really never heard Placebo? You should listen to them - 36 Degrees is a great song.

You've never listened to them!??
I have to agree that Charlie, your voice IS similar to the guy from placebo's.. well crossed between his and Roddy Woomble from Idlewild's which i think is pretty cool! But thats really where the similarity ends..

Oh, and that the chorus from It Comes in Waves is

"my friend in need my friend indeed"

Which is very similar to - arguably placebo's most famous song - Pure Morning, which has lyrics that constantly repeat "a friend in need's a friend indeed" throughout the song.

Listen to pure morning and you'll totally understand what these folk are on about!

I saw you guys at Rockness, I was right at the front, one of my highlights, it was fuckin awesome!

peace!
