HEAVYMAN has got more (mostly positive) feedback from the guest judges at the People's Music Awards HQ. Big thanks and props to TPMA...HEAVYMAN is very chuffed. It's always inspiring to hear from bods within the
industry and these guys have gotten together a great panel.
HEAVYMAN got some good crits which he's taking on board...he's going to touch up on the performance skills, do some gigs, write n record some
new stuff, - get mainstream baby! He's thinking of just rinsing the
pastiche superstar Hip-Hop thing, get rid of all the indie punk quirk n
weird. Maybe get the vocal a bit more UK urban yoof fing innit...maybe change his name to 50 pence? Has that already been taken?
Anyways, get on over to
www.thepeoplesmusicawards.com/ register, vote for HEAVYMAN and listen to some great unsigned music!
Here's what they said, unedited.

Short
and sweet! This is direct and entertaining. The lyrics, vocal
performance (not going to say melody!) and music relate well together.
7 point(s) for
Performance
The performance totally fits the song and the music - very reminiscent of Viv Stanshall!
7 point(s) for
Capture
Not the greatest recording but absolutely captures the song and the performance. Good tight arrangement and direct production.

Lots of fun, plenty of clever irony and commentary. Why not?!

4 point(s) for
Comp./SongwritingObvious lyrics, didnt really work for me. The music is a really nice work of pastiche! Well arranged and executed!
5 point(s) for
PerformanceThe
playing seems good! The vocals need to sit on the band a little better.
If the band is gonna play loose like this the vocals have to really
lock in!

bright - I had to turn my monitor controller down to a barely audible
level... Felt like angry bats were fighting in my ears... The balance
is pretty good despite that...

Heavyman
clearly wears his heart on his sleeve and feels strongly about his
subject matter and approaches it in an experimental short sharp burst
and there is no faulting that.
Musically after an exciting start the beat falls into a
fairly standard rhythm before working solely in unison with the lyrical
flow where the angst of the subject may have been better served by the
lyric and instrumental working more against each other.
4 point(s) for
Performance
The musical track is perfectly well performed and incorporates an energetic live feel that compliments the subject.
In terms of lyrical performance this makes particularly
uncomfortable listening. The harmonies do not work, the MC has not
mastered his art making it a hard to take his points as seriously as
they should be.
6 point(s) for
Capture
Production is all perfectly accomplished and works well for the track.

Would have liked to hear a longer track from which to judge.

interesting
nice to make a point. this could have been done much better with a slightly different musical slant
not a fan of how the lyrics are put together..
maybe this shouldn't have been put into the rap category.
1 point(s) for

not feeling it, sorry bro.
dude has no groove, really in front of the beats instead of working with is.
dude need s to relax and sound like he really means it.. i'm
not convinced... it sounds like he's trying to sound like rather than
being the manifestation of the character he's created... doesn't fly
with me

unfortunately it needs to be more polished

clearly at the demo stage.

it's a quarter of a song.
needs something for the audience to latch on to, a hook, a chorus, a clear melody...
