Interesting times here on the farm. Weddings, Depatures, Collaborations, Occupations of New Houses, Vegetables Sprouting, Recordings, Puppies Maturing and Beer Brewing!!!

The sad news is that Martina and Ian are moving down from the mountain and won't be playing shows with us anymore (although a secret testimonial might take place sometime soon (can't say anymore because they'll read it)) Although they may do some parts on the album (more anon).

Mark and Lindy Sue are getting Married!!!! that happens at the end of the month in the lovely Old Fort in shannonbridge, and will feature the sessiun of the decade into the early hours!

The Vegetables are coming on strong, mainly thanks to the polytunnel Lindy Sue constructed this spring, tons of salad leafs, chard, onions, scallions, radish, carrots, sprouts, PSB, Broad Beans and Runner Beans, tomatos, a herborium of ,well, herbs, plus some new experiments in globe artichokes and purple carrots.  The flowers are all springing up too.  The grass will have to be cut this week.

Sparrow the Dog is just about 2 years old and has (mostly) stopped chewing everything up.  He has developed his mothers taste for veg and an unhealthy obsession with tennis balls, footballs and balloons. check out sparrow and his mammy Barkley on www.flickr.com/photos/markbloodred

Joeby and Ian's Beer efforts have gone from the realm of experimental to being serious contenders for being the favorite beer of mountain banders and their friends.  Joebys crate of a range of different homebrews at the recent stag weekend was highly acclaimed by all.
Ian's turn next so. Tough life having to volunteer to help them taste beer!!

So apart from actual real life happening to us, we've been quietly busy at music things.
We recorded some rock n roll demoes of our songs for the craic recently. We'll put them up soon.
We're currently working on arrangements for an album to be recorded over the winter including a clutch of brand new tunes.
We played some savage gigs recently with Aisling Quinn on vocals and kevin Duffy on fiddle. check Aisling out at www.myspace.com/aislingquinn and Kev plays with Tupelo - www.myspace.com/tupelomusic

Mark and Joeby have been playing as The Magdalene Buckley band (www.myspace.com/magdalenebuckley) and Joeby has also been moonlighting with Aisling Quinn and also Roisin and the Beards.

Busy, busy, busy!!
More news on the way next week. Stay tuned
