Current mood:  cold
went and saw ellis at skylight books on saturday night, it was quite the turn out (id say around 100 people showed up), it was a great reading and the Q&A wasnt bad either (of course some people have to ask again and again whether the violence in american psycho is actually real or not)
anyone who has not read lunar park i suggest you go out right now and get youself a copy!
also the highlight of the night was sharing my theory with bret on what exactly was written in the saftey deposit box and on robby's picture (if you'd like to know what bret had to say about it email me as i dont want to spoil it for anyone that hasnt read it)
cheers,
james

Mr. Anderson

The best part of this is that people kept asking about Psycho (still one of the best books I've ever read).  I remember reading an article about the fury over the violence in Psycho a few years after it was published and it seemed like even then, Ellis wanted to move on from the discussion.  The interviewer was taking the tack that Ellis might be responsible for a lot of violence against women because of the book.  Ellis responded amusingly by asking if J.D. Salinger were responsible for the assassination of John Lennon.  I thought that was brilliant.
