Well, if anything is "made of WIN" I'd say this is. That's so fucking rock.

Hasn't enough of our pop culture become amateur hour? Isn't crap like this why Aimee left the major labels to begin with? Clueless people in suits proposing karaoke contests and reality tv and celebrity bullriding competitions as surefire ratings winners while real artistry is considered old hat and not "hip" enough anymore? This is not very far off from the idiot who suggested that Aimee should consult Diane Warren for songwriting techniques.

I like a good joke even more than the next guy, but this whole spectacle is a really really brutally disappointing sellout to me. It's not ironic or making fun of the problem, it's embracing the problem and trying to make a buck or get some attention off of it.

Maybe Paris Hilton and Tila Tequila can do a duet of this song, wouldn't that be a publicity bonanza???? Is that what would give Aimee Mann some sense of accomplishment in 2008?

Honestly, this completely turns me off, as someone who connected with the magnitude of Aimee's ability to speak profoundly to the human experience all the way back to Til Tuesday's "Welcome Home" album. I hate to hop off this train after 2 decades of wonderful and uplifting experiences, but it's heading somewhere that sincerely and deeply disgusts me now.

People would rather sit on their couch and snicker at mediocrity than get up and celebrate, much less aspire to, greatness. No wonder we are at such an all-time low in every single way in our culture and our society. Call me a killjoy if you will, but I refuse to sink my tires into the mud like everybody else, apparently including the once-great Aimee Mann now.

Well said. I agree, except for the part about not listening to Aimee anymore. That won't ahppen...unless she throws a rap in half-way through a song.

Uhm, how is this an attempt to make money or get extra attention? It's free to enter, and is for people who are already listening to her music! Culture changes. Being in the music industry means going along with that in some size shape or form. Otherwise, you're the star of your own livingroom and that's it.
