When Will I Find You?
A promise from me

I just got home tonight

And realized that my life is missing something

Thought I found you many times

Got excited, but in the end it faded to nothing

And each time that it fades away, it’s like I hear your faint voice telling me not to give up

But… when will I find you?



So many times this year

Great things have happened here, and I’ve thought that you’d enjoy them

I think about what you would say

If you’d been here today and seen and heard this or that

And each time I think about what you’d say if you were here, it’s like I hear your faint voice telling me not to give up

I’m writing a lot of songs,

Laying it all out there, my feelings an open book

To me, our love is like an anthem, so I write

And each time I write another song for her -- then realize she wasn’t you --, it’s like I hear your faint voice telling me not to give up

But… when will I find you?



Promise me this…

Will you carry a flashing neon sign, to point me in the right direction?

Will your heartsong sing the same as mine, with rich affection?

Will you yell to me over a forte symphony... just some massive way for me to get a sign to help me find you?

We both know it probably won't take all of that.

But no matter what it takes,

We won’t give up,

Someday I know I’ll find you
