I've always been Jeffrey Scott Stewart.  But I've always gone by simply "Jeff Stewart". 

Funny how our labels represent us.  Or perhaps, how they don't.  I'm not REALLY "Jeffrey Scott Stewart" or "Jeff Stewart" or any other name.  I'm . . . well . . . ME! 

Which is why it's easy for me to roll with this "change" . . .

I've come to grips with the fact that there are TOO MANY people known as "Jeff Stewart" . . . hmmmm . . .

If you google "Jeff Stewart", in addition to yours truly, you find a Scottish actor who tried to commit suicide after being told that he was being fired from a TV show that he'd been on for years, another singer/songwriter (!) in Toledo, Ohio, some Canadian living in Japan, a clay artist in California . . . on and on.

Even here in Nashville, there are about four or five "Jeff Stewart"s . . . and one or two of 'the others' are also singer/songwriters!  I used to have a drummer (Kevin Kathey) who also had worked with another Jeff Stewart.

This goes all the way back to high school . . . that's right, high school!  There was another kid in my school named Jeff Steward (yes, with a 'd').  Sometimes when I connect with an old classmate I have to explain WHICH Jeff Stewart I am!

Of course, I like to think that I'm the REAL Jeff Stewart - and of course, I AM!  ;-).   

The problem is, it makes it harder for YOU to find ME.  And THAT is a problem.  I don't want you to see something about one of these OTHERS and think that it's ME!  And I don't want you to have to dig and dig through all the other Jeff Stewart's to find ME.

The solution seems simple.  And if anything, this "new" label is even MORE uniquely ME!  There ARE other Jeffrey Scott Stewarts, but FAR FEWER than 'that other name'.  (BTW, the solution may be 'simple', but it's not very fast . . . I'm attempting to completely redo my whole web presence . . . the www.JeffreyScottStewart.com website is almost complete.)  I'll be asking all of the Jeff Stewart music space friends to add THIS Jeffrey Scott Stewart music space and then minimizing THAT space by deleting all friends except THIS space.  (got it?)

So, from now on, musicly speaking, I will be known as "Jeffrey Scott Stewart".  No calculated 'image' issues, just trying to make sure you know it's ME! 

But you can still just call me 'Jeff' . . . (that's not too common is it?)
