Last week Oxjam hit the The Kasbah in Covenrty. The night featuring Mitsu’s Run, Bluestones, LP45, Capulets, Lloyd McGrath and Malc Evans was a huge success for Oxjam raising over £400 for Oxfam. About Oxjam....

Oxjam is about raising money for Oxfam to tackle poverty all over the world. Participating in an Oxjam fundraising event means that you'll be helping people to earn a living; get an education; gain better access to health care and fresh water; and to grow more food. Every pound you raise counts. It all adds up to one big difference so be as unusual and creative as you want

Oxjam are still looking for people to get together and have fun while helping to raise money for Oxfam through the Oxjam Music Festival. Whether you are a musician, pub landlord or just someone who has a passion for ending poverty then we want to hear from you.

Right now Oxjam is gearing up towards a grand finale in March 2009 and getting involved is simple. You can sign up to organise your own small event, perform at someone else’s event or simply volunteer to help out.

Whatever you want to do the Central England Oxjam Team can help you a long the way. We already have contact with venues and bands who would love to get involved in an event. If you need helpers we can get in touch with our volunteers.

If you have a local venue to host an event please get in touch as we have local bands that are keen to perform. We also need volunteers to help with all sorts of things like helping set up and selling tickets. So get in touch and help make a difference.

Visit www.oxjam.org to register and find out what events are already happening in your area. Tell us how you’d like to get involved by emailing centralengland@oxjam.org
