Well, it's been 9 months since Chris left Skeleton Crew and finding a new frontman has been a difficult and long process. We dallied briefly with Lewis Phyllis but decided to let him concentrate on Damnation Angel and not have to worry about gig clashes.

However, after a few rehearsals and joining us for half a set at our last gig we have welcomed Lyndon Parry to the crew. Lyndon is a seasoned frontman having spent many years with such local bands as Wanton Angel, Bigg Muff and Stoned Beggars (now become Gatecrasher). He came to his first try-out four days after hearing our album for the first time and had pretty much learnt most of it, only needing lyrics for a few prompts. The next rehearsal saw even greater familiarity and we decided that he was ready to go public for the first time and it would be our chance to see him work a crowd. To say we were not dissapointed is certainly understating the reality! There were fewer people at the gig than we'd hoped but Lyndon worked them up to sounding like at least double the number. He had the accuracy and dynamics that make our songs what they are and just gave us all an energy that had been slightly flagging before he joined us on stage. Suddenly we were flying and it felt right. There was absolutely no sense of strangeness with someone new on stage, he just felt a natural part of the band. You cant ask for more than that.

We'd like to thank everyone who expressed an interest in trying out. We know how interested you were and were very flattered how highly you think of us. Obviously in some cases there were insurmountable problems which prevented your being able to be a part of it, but it was not lack of enthusiasm on your part or lack of interest on our part. Things like transport and availability are so important with Skeleton Crew being spread from one side of Nottingham to the other that being without these puts an impossible barrier in place.
